"She deserves better than that!" he shouted back, walking downstairs with Annabel's body in his arms.

"You've been in and out for days, mostly asleep, sometimes half awake. The witches don't think you have much longer, maybe a few hours." Annabel just nodded back. "That's it? You're just gonna accept it?"
"What else am I supposed to do, Hayley?"
"Everyone tried so hard to find a cure, I just... you can't die, Bella. You just can't. It'll destroy Klaus, Marcel, Rebekah– the whole city would go crazy," she said.
"This city's strong, they'll be fine without me."
"Yeah," she nodded, taking something out of her pocket, "but they'll be stronger with you."
"What is that?" Annabel asked, though she couldn't find the strength to fight it when Hayley held the vial up to her lips and poured the red liquid down her throat.
"What was what?" she asked, putting the vial back in her pocket.
"You just..." she trailed off, not even able to remember.
"I think you're having a sugar crash, you hungry?"
She grunted, "What's that? My last meal?"
Annabel woke up already gasping for breath, looking around when she saw she was in Nik's arms heading out of the compound. "Anna?"
