I thought I would begin these lessons teaching you how I learnt. The first thing I started with was short phrases. Let's start shall we? I will put the literal translation first, then the general meaning.
Hej! - Hey, Hi
Hallå - Hello
God morgon - Good morning
God natt🌙 - Good night
God kväll - Good evening
Hej då - Good bye
Trevligt att träffas! - Nice to meet! /
Nice to meet you.
Hur mår du? - How do you feel/how are you.
Hur har du det? - How do you have it? / How's it going?
Hur mycket kostar det? - How much does it cost?
Är du upptagen?- Are you busy?
Vad gör du? Vad håller du på med? - What are you doing?
Vad heter du? - What are you called? / What is your name?
Jag heter - My name is...
Vi ses senare. - We'll see each other later / See you later
Vad sött! - How sweet/cute!
Hur gammal är du? - How old are you?
Jag är ___ år gammal. - I am ___ years old.
