As soon as they walk off our porch I slowly shut the door and do a wall-sit against it, slowly sliding down to a sitting position and running my fingers through my hair. I shouldn't make a big deal out of it though, I'd probably meet a lot of good looking guys in school and I'd have to get used to it. That's what Haley said, at least.
I rush up the stairs to throw on some clothes and do my hair and makeup, realizing I only have twenty minutes to get ready. I throw over a purple T-shirt and a choker necklace. I decide on using my waver to wave my hair, and not make it too curly. After the smokey eye effect is done for my eye makeup, I rub my clear lip gloss over my lips to make them shiny.

She comes running down the stairs, her bright hair flopping on her back every step she takes. I stuff the bagel I took out of the bag into my mouth and said between bites, "We're gonna be late if you don't hurry and eat."
She snarfs down a bagel with cream cheese and I look at the fresh new tattoo on my arm. Mom and dad always said I'm going to regret ever getting sleeves of tattos. They cover the scars that show my horrible past so I honestly don't give a crap what they say.
I tap my fingers on the table impatiently as I wait for her to finish the bagel off. When she finally does I grab our backpacks and throw them into the backseat of the car and let her drive. She starts the car and heads toward the school.
At this school, we really only have to take a few classes depending on what we're studying to be. As for me, I'm studying to be a doctor, because I feel like I'm good at helping people when they're sick or injured in some way. Lynn's training to become a stage performer. I think the only class on this campus we have together is science.
I smile at her and wave after I grab my black bag from the back and swing it around my shoulder, turning towards the building in which my first class is held. "I'll see you in science!" I shout. She waves back and smiles and walks into her building on campus, which is about twenty feet away from mine. I do the same as her, but pause in front of the front door and take a deep breath, unsure about whether or not I'm ready for this. I take my next step, starting my first day of Freshman year.

I sling my bag over my shoulder and walk into the Theater building, back straight and head held high. I'm ready for today. I'm ready for everything that I'm going to have to face throughout the year.
I drop my bag in the corner where the other ones are and begin stretching on a ballet pole with the other students.
There's a boy in the corner doing warm ups and watching himself in the mirror. He looks like he could be fifteen, maybe even sixteen. My jaw drops to the floor as I listen to his voice, it sounds so perfect. He clears his throat and claps his hands together once and folds them. He struts over to the front of the room and calls for our attention. What, was this kid our teacher or something?
"Alright, students," he sighs, "I'm taking over as your teacher for the rest of this week. Sadly, Mrs. Moran caught the flu and can't make it to teach you for your first day. So she called her son in to teach for a while." He showed a bright, cheesy smile and put his hands on his hips. "that's why I'm here."

Physolophy hasn't even started yet and I was already bored. I pulled my IPhone out of my pants pocket to check how twitter is doing. I sigh heavily and sink in my chair, watching as students file into the classroom.
By the time the bell rings, everyone is in their seats opening a laptop to take notes on, when a girl walks in looking more frustrated than ever. She huffs as the professor glares at her. She looks around for a place to sit, and keeps her eyes on the empty seat next to me. She comes to sit next to me and looks the slightest bit agitated. Maybe 'cause she was late? Who knows, girls get upset over the weirdest things.
The professor introduces herself as Ms. Hancock, and comes off as the strict type.
The girl next to me has been completely silent the whole time, barely even glanced in my direction. She had long blonde hair with natural looking highlights, they were brown. She had a sleeve of tattoos up to her elbow on her right arm, the one that was next to me. She held a straight face the entire time, only looking up every once in a while to listen to the teacher and copy the words into her notes. I bet she was even more beautiful behind the inch of makeup that covered her face.I slid my notebook out of my bag beside the desk quietly so Ms. Hancock didn't notice. I scribble "hi" onto the paper and fold it, passing it slowly to her. Once it was opened and read I was given a disgusted look, like she had no interest in me. The paper was then shredded in half by her shiny black fingernails as the professor glared at her once again.
Her cheeks became red and she covered her face with the laptop screen so she could no longer see the professor's disappointed stare. I feel bad since I sort of started it, but then again I don't because she could have showed she wasn't interested in a more subtle way.

This kid is going to pay for this, I swear. My professor already doesn't approve of me, I can tell. My cheeks flame up with not only embarassment but anger as well. I clench my fists then release them, hoping to get rid of the anger. Why would he say hi in the middle of class? Especially to someone like me? I roll my eyes and think to myself, desperate much?
Once my class is over and the bell rings I slide my laptop into its case and walk out the door, right past the guy who was trying to talk to me. The same one who wrote me the letter.
I can already tell this is going to be a great year.
