I left out the front door, I was wearing black pumps with a golden bow on, denim jeans and a long sleeved plum top, with my shoulder bag hooked over me. Mum had roped Jason into helping my other brothers and Fraser unload the remaining things from the van and I didn't bother asking Lindsey if she wanted to come and find Freddie and Robbie with me. Mum had given me a clear idea of where they'd be, in their new business - a garage just behind the pub carpark. It wasn't too far only two streets away, I think.
The village was quiet, quieter than I expected it to be anyway. It was still early afternoon so the majority of the people my age would still be at school. As should Robbie, but I highly doubt he was at school. Finally, a big red pained garage with a few motorbikes and a car parked outside caught my eye. The shutters were half down but I could hear the radio playing fairly loud from the distance I was stood at. I quickly sped up to catch the boys off guard before they saw me through the window. I noticed Robbie carrying two tires and Freddie was laying under a van on something that resembled a skateboard, moving him backwards and forwards. I banged my knuckles as hard as I could on the metal shutter, causing them both to jump. Freddie let out a loud welp as he banged his head on the bottom of the car. I gasped, but laughed as he began to roll himself from under the van.
"Emily, is that you?" Freddie shouted, rubbing his head as he sat up.
"You alright sis?" Robbie nodded, still carrying to two tyres - it looked like he was looking for somewhere to out them down.
"You both have everything set out amazingly in here," I gasped, walking around and looking at the whole alarm and computer system which Freddie would have set up by himself.
"Yeah it's great, I recon Joe and Ziggy are going to be well impressed," Robbie smiled, now walking over in his red overalls which was tied around his waste and he had a black top on his top half.
"We've only just officially opened, it took a lot longer than we thought. Anyway, where are the others?" Freddie asked.
"Mum made them help unpack our clothes and stuff," I explained, wiping the dust off the office chair and sitting down myself on it.
"And surprise surprise you got out of it," Freddie laughed, shaking his head and rinsing his hands of the oil on them. I smirked at him, as he already knew the score.
"I take it your met Fraser Black then," Robbie scoffed, I sensed he didn't like him already.
"Yeah, he's a bit, weird," I replied, hesitating before I said the word 'weird'.
"What makes you say that, Emily?" Freddie asked, folding his arms as him and Robbie moved closer to me.
"Well, Jason shook his hand and he, like, almost pulled his hand off. His grip was so strong I thought Jason's hand was going to break," I explained, I could tell my face was beginning to look worried as I monitored the angry expressions on Freddie and Robbie's face grew.
"You know why he did that? To show who's boss. Don't show him any weakness or he will snap," Freddie smirked. I opened my mouth to reply when the rest of my brothers came darting around the corner.
"Fred, Rob," Ziggy laughed, touching his hands off theirs in a kind of high five kind of hand shake thing. Joe laughed and pulled both of them in for a hug and slapped their back.
"This place, it's a dream," Joe laughed, admiring the great job Freddie and Robbie had done on their own starting this place by themselves.Joe took his wallet out of his back pocket and began rummaging around for a note inside it.
"You three," Joe began, looking towards myself, Jason and Robbie, "Go and get some bottled water and some of the wine Lindsey drinks," Joe instructed, holding out a £10 note which I quickly snatched off him and began walking away. "And I'll be wanting the change!" Joe shouted after us, as I walked fast in the middle of Robbie and Jason.Price Slice, a pink and white shop underneath some flats were now in sight. It looked posh, too posh for a place like this. We walked inside, behind the counter was a tall black woman with a weave sewn in and a scarf wrapped tightly around her neck.
"Hello Robbie," She smiled, turning to face us as we walked in.
"Alright Mrs Loveday," Robbie quietly muttered, leaning against the door of the shop while I walked to get a 6 pack of still water.
"Who have to bought with you today then?" She nosily asked, following me around the shop with her eyes.
"This is my twin brother, Jason and our little sister Emily," Robbie informed her and she nodded her head to acknowledge that we were here. "Mrs Loveday's son goes to our sixth form Jase," Robbie explained, pretending to be interested. Jason grabbed Lindsey's wine quickly and we paid and left. Mrs Loveday was weird, I had already sensed she didn't like me."So what do you think of the place?" Robbie asked, as we entered the main village area and Jason and I looked around for the first time.
"I think we're going to get along really well here," Jason smiled, putting his hands in the pocket of his black hoodie. "Fraser seems alright as well, doesn't he?" Jason then asked, not thinking anything else of it.
"Jase - he nearly broke your hand when he shook it," I smirked, now having an odd first impression of him in my mind after what Freddie had mentioned in the garage 5 minutes ago.
"It was just a firm hand shake Emily. He didn't mean anything by it," Jason sighed, shaking his head. I subtly looked at Robbie and he shook his head slightly, which told me not to mention anything. "I know Mum's first boyfriend since Dad is going to be hard for us, especially us three but let's just give this man a chance, he seems a decent bloke," Jason continued."Wait until you meet his daughter," Robbie scoffed, walking ahead faster.
