Chapter 11 ~ Lillian

(Y/N)'s POV

I woke up in, wait... a bed? How did I get here? I got out and saw that I was in Dante's room. Then, Cadenza came into the room.

"Hey (Y/N)! Dante found you asleep in the weaponry and took you here," she said. I smiled.

"Oh, you should probably head to the guard tower. Laurance is waiting for you there." That's the last person I want to see right now.

"Um, Cadenza, I not feeling too well so I think I'll just stay here today," I said.

"Are you okay? If you want, you can talk to me for a bit. Laurance told me to watch over Garroth today," she said with a sympathetic look.

"Nah, it's okay. I just need to rest," I said, faking a smile. She gave a small nod and left. I face-planted on the bed. I curled into a ball. Why do I even feel this way? What is wrong with me? I started to cry again. Ever since what I saw what happened at the pathway, seeing this just shoved me over edge. I removed the part of my armor that protected my arm, revealing the bare skin. (TRIGGER WARNING!!!) I took out my sword. I cut my arm. One for falling in love. One for not being worth it. One for thinking someone could care about me. One for still being caught up about this. One for doing this in the first place. I threw my bloody sword to the ground and buried my face in my hands. I felt the blood and tears rolling down my arms.

Garroth's POV

I heard crying coming from Dante's room. I snuck out of mine and went into Dante's. There, I saw (Y/N)'s (F/G) sword, its tip covered in blood, lying on the floor. Then, I saw (Y/N) sobbing and blood dripping from her left arm.

"(Y/N), you didn't-" I started.

"I did," she said, her voice shaky. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying. I sat next to her and put my arm around her. She cried into my chest and I stroked her hair.

"(Y/N), I know you're hurt. But you can't hurt yourself like this. It isn't your fault," I said, trying to comfort her. She reminds me of Hazel. After a bit she stopped crying and I tended to her wounds.

(Y/N)'s POV

After Garroth tended to my wounds, I went for a walk in the forest. Nature always helps me to clear my thoughts and calm me down. I wandered around, admiring the trees and flowers. It almost made me forget about Laurance. Almost. Being here just made me remember when we would actually spend time together. I hummed a small song as I walked and ended up singing.

I continued to sing as I walked, and eventually sat under a tree. Then, some girl with raven-black hair and blue eyes came up to me. I stood up quick, raising my sword.

"Who are you?"

"Oh, my name is Lillian! What's your name?"

"I'd rather not say."

"Well, I heard your singing and I wanted to see if you were okay."

"I'm fine."

"Why are you staying away from your friends?" How did she know that? I wanted to cut her off there, but something in me was telling me to go along.

"I just wanted to be alone I guess."

"Are you sick? If so, I would like to help you."

"No, it's really fine. A shattered heart isn't really something anyone can help with at the moment."

"You know, Garroth said the same thing earlier today. We can just talk about it if you want." I gave a small nod. She sat down next to me. I explained to her about the whole situation.

"Wow, that's horrible. Nobody should treat a guard like yourself that way." she paused.

"You know, the Jury of Nine might be a good fit for you. With your talent and fighting skill, you would be absolutely perfect for it!" I thought about it for a second. One side of me was telling me not to do it, more like demanding me not to. But the other side was saying yes. I would just go around and do as I was told and hopefully forget about Laurance! This was perfect! Then I realized that they work for Zane. I would have to think about it.

"Maybe..." was my response.
