Lin sat on the balcony chair staring out into brightly lit city as the time neared eleven. He couldn't sleep, he couldn't stop thinking. "V, I don't know what to do dear. I don't want to mess either of them up" he whispered up at the stars hoping his late wife could hear him. "On another note, I think the kids need a mother and obviously it can't be you" he said a teat falling from his eye. "Vanessa, my darling I love you with all my heart and I always will. I have missed you so long and nothing will ever change that" he said, he prayed. "But she makes me so happy, I miss her when she's not around" he admits head in his hands. "So if you could show me a sign, that it's okay if I move on. I'd be eternally greatful my love may I please... move on" he said, not seconds later his sign showed up.
"The kids are asleep, I checked on Gray to make sure she wasn't burning up. I'll leave now though, I've been here for a while and over stayed my welcome" the brunette spoke from the door frame. He grinned. "Thank you" he whispered to the stars and turned to Phillipa. "Come here" he said, she smiled closing the balcony door and taking a seat beside him on the bench Vanessa had bought all those years ago. They looked each other in the eyes, he smiled thankfully and she nodded letting out a yawn and resting her head on his shoulder.
"Gray loves it here" she says, he can't help but smile. "How do you know?" He asks, she pats his leg. "I see it in her face. When we first met her that night she was pale, her hair looked so washed away, her eyes were dark and muddy almost...lifeless but now, her cheeks have colour and he brown hair shines in the sunlight and her eyes oh my Lin have you looked?" She rambles. "I haven't" he answered softly. "My god man, our daughter is gorgeous." She said, she let it slip. She said our. "Our daughter? She's ours now?" He asked letting out a small laugh. "Hell yeah, I want credit for that. God knows the girl has talent no matter what it may be. She's so caring and perseverant I mean I haven't met any other kid in the world like her" Phillipa says, he frowns, not because of Gray. "What's wrong?" She asks, he sighs. "I thought you meant our in a different way. Doesn't matter though" he shoots quickly. She looks up, everything Gray said shot back into her mind and that's when she made up her mind. "Kiss me" she said, it wasn't like it was a big request. They kissed 8 times a week and slept together on a very drunken cercumstance but it caught him off guard. "Pip?" "Lin just... kiss me or I'm going home" she breathed, that set him over the edge.
Not caring about the hair in both their faces or being romantic in the moment he pulled her by the chin (gently) and smashed his lips into hers hungrily. He'd been wanting to do this for so long, she quickly moved towards him and his hands found themselves roaming her back as hers were in his messy black hair. It felt like it was just the two of them in the world but that night it wasn't.
Gray stood against the wall smiling, she was right, she's always right. Lin also wasn't the only one talking to the star's. As she looked at Lin and Phillipa smiling in an embrace she wisphered. "Mom, you will always be my parent, the one who gave me life and raised me to this point but I want to define myself and I know these people will help me, may I please...
. . . move on"
