Dan was woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of glass shattering. He sat bolt upright and listened. He heard shuffling from downstairs. In his half-asleep state, he assumed it was a burglar or murderer. Dan slowly crept out of his room, being hyper aware of every creak in the floor board and the sound of his own breathing. He tip-toed down the steps and grabbed a broom to defend himself before walking into the kitchen.

"Phil?" He whispered. Phil had had his back to him, his hand in a box of chocolate chip cookies. He turned his head towards Dan and froze like a deer caught in headlights. Crumbs already surrounded his mouth. He was extremely guilty.

"I'm innocent, I swear!" He pleaded. He tried to hide the box of cookies behind him. His face fell when he saw the broken glass on the floor in a puddle of milk.

"Phiiil!" Dan whined, "What were you doing?" He leaned over to grab the largest of the shards. He carefully picked it up and found a plastic bag to put it in. With the broom, he swept up the rest of the pieces. Phil grabbed a rag from the cupboard and mopped up the milk. Dan sighed.

"What are you doing, being up at this hour?" Dan scolded. He sounded like an angry parent.

"I... um... I..." Phil began, trying to find an excuse. "I... um...saved a piece for you!" He said and shoved half of a cookie in Dan's mouth.

"Phi-" Dan was cut off. His mouth was now full of chocolatey goodness. He swallowed and laughed.

"You can't solve all your problems by making someone shut up!" He laughed.

"Watch me." Phil teased.

"There's no way yo-" Dan was cut off again, this time by Phil's lips pressed against his. Dan closed his eyes and surrendered himself to Phil. Suddenly Phil's hands were on his bare back and he was pressed against the fridge door.
