                                                                                     Chapter 1

Stand, wait, peek again. The tension sat in the air like a morning mist. Tyler Morgan, a 19 year old, 6'4" bad boy, stood in the far back corner of the paintball arena. HIs best friends/teammates lie bruised, and moaning infront of him. The other team had ambushed them, leaving Tyler as a lone survivor. It was a 6v6 in the beginning, the guys they were facing were elites. They had gone all the way to the National Paintball Cup. Their skill, combined with their teamwork was almost unstopable. The room was dark, with the occasional light flicker. His palms were clammy, and his heart beating like a drum in rock concert. Quick shots are required, he cannot mis a single shot to be able to win this. He looks back around the crate he was hiding behind, and he doesn't see anyone.

"TIme to move, I got one chance at this,"He wispered to himself.

As soon as the light flickered, he popped out of his hiddy hole. Gun raised, prepared to pop anyone who bothered to show their face. Before he could release his breath, 6 simultanious paintballs slam right into his chest. Throwing him off his feet and into the wall 3 feet behind him. The lights turn on, and the 6 men come from their hiding spots in the room, helping up the guys the had previously gunned down 5 minutes before. The captain of the team walked over and picked up tyler with ease.

"Don't bunch up next time, dude." The captain said with a Australian draw to his voice.

"Thanks dude." Tyler weezed out of his chest.

Thhe whole team was bent over grasping for breath. Nick Stone, Cameron Bellamy, Sam Van Balen, Kaden Silverburg, and Riley Hunter were the members of Tylers team. They all were decked out in full paintball gear, with the occasional pink platter from the other team. Tyler was the only one who was still bent over by now. He took of the chestplate and his shirt to see the 6 shots had created 6 bruises that sorta looked like a smiley face in a twisted, upsidedown kind of way. Nick Stone, brown, short, curly hair, around 6'1", picked up his iphone and checked his email.

"Guys, you won't believe it!" Nick said with a certain sadness in his speech.

"What is it?" Tyler questioned.

"The United States was just declared war on by Afganistan again." Nick read from the email.

Sam VB, 6'7" tall well build guy looked around at everyone in the circle of guys. Looking at each one specifically then saying,"We all are eligable for the draft, we could be forced into this."

The 6 guys step out into the street from the Paintball Arena, Lexington Kentucky was a busy place at this time. The date was the 2nd of May, 2014, and inTylers life, the day has never felt this beautiful. The sun fell down upon him like raindrops, making his skin tingle. He felt amazing, glad to be living. THe group hopped into Hunter Rice's truck, and sped off back to Camerons house. He lived in Brighton Place, in one of the best houses in the neighborhood. Hunter had dropped of Cameron and Tyler at Camerons' house, when the two boys walked in, Camerons mother sat in the foyer crying, his dad stood over her looking at Cameron. His mother was holding 2 yellow notes with the National insignia in the top left corner. Tyler was adopted by the Bellamys after his mother and father were killed in a shooting at the Commonwealth Bank 5 years earlier. Tyler didn't understand what was wrong with his step-parents. Anna and Craig Bellamy walked over and hugged the two boys before they could put their stuff down.

"B-Boys, your mom and I have something to tell you." Craig Bellamy stuttered.

Anna passed the 2 yellow notes to both of the boys. The note said that the two boys were to be Drafted into the United States Military, and were to be expected at the Lexington Airport at 8 A.M the next day to be flown to Virginia to be trained. After training, the boys shall be shipped out to Afganistan 6 weeks from now. This couldn't be happening. Tyler dropped to his knees, holding the note with 2 hands. He was shaking, rattling almost. Cameron dropped to the ground, lying there with complete disbelief. Tyler jumps from his spot, and storms out the door.

"Tyler wait!"Anna Screamed!

This can't be happening, he has so much to live for. No, no, NO! Tyler just runs, down the street, down Pulumbo drive, into a small neighborhood were the one person he wanted to be with right now lived. Dany Trese Vissing. His current(not for long now) girlfriend was outside playing with her new golden retriever puppy. Her light brown hair glided down her body like rivers, she stood up seeing her boyfriend running at her, wondering why he was crying. Tyler ran up to her and hugged her. She was about 5 inches shorter than him, and looked like a younger version of Megan Fox. She stood there befuddled.

"Whats wrong baby?" She questioned him.

Tyler fell to his knees, reaching up, handing her the yellow note. The yellow note that will change his life forever.
