Gabriel
I stepped yet on another branch that has fallen, causing a twig noise to echo in the dark forest. I was running in a forest at 3 am.
What am I doing exactly?
I am looking for a human to start a conversation with.
Another gun shot was heard in the distance and I cursed under my breath, they were still behind me.
The freaks were getting closer and closer by the second. They were going to take me back, in that small room without any food again.
I shuddered, thinking of those disgusting four walls that are supposedly a 'room'.
I am not going back there...hell no. I would rather die.
Lights were gradually appearing in the distance, and trust me, I could've jumped in joy then, if I wasn't running for my life that is.
A city appeared and using all the energy I had left I sprinted towards it. I knew they wouldn't chase me here, it would cause some unnecessary trouble for them.
I placed my hand on my knees and took deep breaths. My leg-muscles were aching and I was dizzy, really dizzy.
I haven't had blood in a very long time, and the effects were showing up right now. I need someone to drink blood from.
And now that's the problem.
I started walking around slowly, using different objects I could find for support. I wanted to see a bar, or something similar, somewhere I can grab a girl randomly and no one will care or find it suspicious.
Beside an old building, stood a tall blonde who was fiddling with the contents of her purse.
I considered leaving her alone. Considered. But the headache and body pain I was suffering made me change my mind.
She won't remember a thing.
Kelly
"Kelly you lazy, useless ass wake up." yelled out my step-mother from downstairs, loud and clear enough for the neighbours to hear. I groaned into my pillow and placed the blanket over my head. She and her daughter made sure my life is a living hell, spreading nasty rumours about me, ruining my image in front of other adults, telling my father, the only living relative I have, untrue things about me, that's how difficult I had it.
"Kelly!" my step-mother yelled out again, this time, her voice was closer. I sighed and went to my little tiny bathroom that was in my room. I slammed the door shut, and rubbed my temple.
I hate her, a lot. She can go die and I could care less. Heck maybe I should kill her myself.
I tied my long brown hair into a tight ponytail, brushed my teeth and headed back to my room to change.
I had to get ready for school, something I really didn't want to face.
I was home alone, with the two demons, my step-mother and step-sister. Cinderella much?
My father was always on business trips, ever since the day I was born, and he was hardly home. I have always felt left out when the kids in my class made cards for Father's Day to give it to their fathers when I knew mine would never be home. I always felt envious when the kids in my class used to brag about how their dads take them out somewhere and did this and that when mine was always on stupid business trips and never contacted me, not like he cared about me.
We used to be a little family, me, my father, and my mother. Yes a happy little typical family that you see out there. We would celebrate holidays together, eat together, sit in the living room together. That is, until my father decided to use his major in business.
