Luke’s POV:

As show started, I was completely distracted. I needed to figure out a way to get off stage, but there really wasn’t one – I could pretend to be sick, but no doubt our manager and stage crew and maybe even the boys would follow me off stage. If I pretended to forget something, no one would let me off stage, someone would just get whatever it was I needed for me. And if I said to go to the bathroom, I’m sure it would just end in a lecture from someone later about taking care of business before the show.

Fuck! There was no way I was getting off this stage until the show was over.

*** A while later***

The boys and I grabbed hands as we took a bow.

“Thank you all so much for coming everyone! We love each and everyone one of you little cunts,” Beau said as me and the other boys all waved to the crowd as we headed off stage. I had almost forgot about the drugs, but as soon as we stepped into the backstage waiting room, I looked over to the far corner to see the black bag still sitting on the end table. I breathed out a sigh of relief. It had only occurred to me about half way through the show that the bag might actually belong to someone – that it might not be there, but it was.

The other boys were beaming with excitement and adrenaline from the performance as we walked into our dressing room. I was almost anxious to let the bag out of my sight, but I figured that if it hadn’t moved during the time that I had been onstage then it would probably be okay for a while longer. I found myself struggling, though, to act normal. I felt jittery and anxious to get that bag. I tried to push it from my mind as I changed clothes and packed up my backpack.

It couldn’t have been more than a half hour when our manager walked in and told us that we would have to leave through the back entrance of the venue because there were so many fans crowded out front. I didn’t pay much attention to what he had said as I continued to pack my things. It wasn’t until someone opened a door in the dressing room that I hadn’t noticed before – it was a door to outside and I could see the back out our car through the open door. Jai and Daniel were already grabbing there stuff and heading outside to put there things in the car. Shit!

I had finished packing my backpack and was just staring at the door, dazed, trying to figure out a way to get what I so desperately wanted, needed even. Suddenly, I was startled by a hand on my shoulder.

“Let’s go, Luke,” James said as he lifted his hand from my shoulder and headed towards the door. “We’re the last two and we have to be out of here in 2 minutes or else the venue sues,” James laughed as he walked through the door. Fuck. I didn’t know what to do. I stood up and headed toward the door. I reluctantly made it outside to see James getting into the car. The boys were only waiting for me. I walked to the opened, back door of the car and began to get in, when I made a last ditch effort to get the medicine.

“Shit! I forgot something. Be right back,” I said to the boys, turning and running back into the venue before I any of them could stop me. I could hear the protests of the boys from the car, but I didn’t look back. I ran into through the dressing room and back into the waiting room. I spotted the bag still sitting on the same end table. I jogged across the room and grabbed the bag, turning around quickly and heading back toward to the dressing room when our manager walked out, stopping me in my tracks. I’m sure I must have looked shocked, but I quickly gained my composure and tried to make my face look as normal as possible.

“Everything alright?” Our manager asked.

“Yup. Just forgot this,” I said holding up the black bag, praying that he wouldn’t question me any further.

“Well hurry up. We’ve gotta get out of here,” he said gesturing for me to follow him as he headed back through the dressing room toward the car.

My heart beat slowed a bit as I followed him, swinging my backpack off one shoulder and throwing the black bag inside. I made it back to the car and hopped in. I sat back in my seat as we drove to the hotel. I had gotten away with it. Hopefully whoever had the bag before me wasn’t going to miss it too much.
