Klaus's POV
I stood at the bottom of the steps with my glass of champagne waiting for Caroline, I looked quite smart in a suit if i do say so myself, My sister walked down the steps in her green dress that fitted her perfectly, she was obviously waiting for Damon Salvatore, I had heard that they had a thing but i never asked her, i searched around and then i saw a gorgeous princess walk through the doors with blonde curled hair in a bun and strands hanging down her face, It was my caroline. I looked gobsmacked as i saw how beautiful she looked as she glanced around and then her eyes met mine.
Damon's POV
I saw Caroline walk in, she looked really nice and then I saw Klaus Mikaelson staring at her, he was obviously the one she had a fling with, I searched for Elena and then I saw her walk through the doors in a gold ish dress, she was looking around and she looked so beautiful just like a princess, she smiled and then faintly smiled at me and then I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was Rebekah, Elena's face dropped and she walked to the other side of the room avoiding me, I brushed Rebekah off me and she sighed and walked off mardy.
I went to find Stefan and then I saw him speaking with Elena, laughing and smiling, I felt hurt and then he saw me and walked away and Elena came up to me, she finally wanted to talk and I was so happy. She didn't look happy though, I smiled and she frowned, she looked at me straight in the eyes.
"Hey can I just say you look stunning" I smiled
"Damon I need to ask you a serious question and I want the truth" she frowned
"Okay but if it's about me taking Stefan's tie then I object to answer" I smirked and smiled
"Did you sleep with Rebekah Mikaelson?" She asked
"Well that wasn't the question I expected.." I paused
"Damon look me in the eyes and tell me it's not true, please" she pleaded with hope in her eyes
"Elena.." I paused
"You slept with Rebekah... It's true isn't it?" She asked hurt
"Yes..." I paused
"Oh my god.." She paused with tears in her eyes
"Elena let me explain" I pleaded
"No, stay away from me" she frowned and ran off
Caroline's POV
I saw Elena run away from Damon, he must of told her the truth, I needed to go see if she was alright but then Klaus had gotten in my way, he looked at me deeply in the eyes like I was this beautiful angel he had ever seen, he always made me feel special but I was with Tyler and I couldn't do that to him and Klaus always messed me about, he messed my head up so much. I tried to walk past him and he clenched onto my arm and swung me back and I looked at him.
"You decided to come" he smiled widely
"I had no other choice did I? It was either come here or let you pester me for days" I sighed
"I knew you missed me" he smirked
"Klaus what are you doing here?" I asked
"I'm at a ball stood with the most beautiful girl in here, that's what I'm doing here" he smiled and grinned
"Very funny, now the real reason?" I asked sarcastically
"I missed you" he frowned
"I doubt that very much" I sighed and rolled my eyes
"How about just for one night I'm all yours, I need time to explain myself and to prove to you I've changed and to start, Caroline Forbes would you do me the honour of being my dance partner for this fine evening" he laughed and smirked
"You get one dance and a quick chat, that's all you get" I frowned
"That's fine by me" he smirked
We walked into the lines and I knew that Elena had to dance with Damon at the start until we all switched partners, I felt bad for her knowing what he did but tonight had to be good, we couldn't let anything ruin that and I had to make sure I didn't get attached to Klaus again, we stood opposite each other and took a bow at the same time as the ed Sheeran music played and then I placed my left hand against his left hand and we turned around in circles in our positions and went back to the starting point and then did the same with our right hands and then we joined hands and he rested his other hand on my waist and my hands gripped onto his and he smiled widely as we danced around the room.
"I see you took the dress I bought for you, you look gorgeous Caroline" He smiled
"No don't do that, you don't get to shower me with fancy things and compliments klaus" I sighed
"But you love it really" he smirked
"I stopped loving it when you decided to leave" I frowned
Elena's POV
I couldn't believe what I had heard, Damon admitted it to me and I was actually so stupid to think that me and him could ever be something real again, he slept with someone he barely knew because that was how Damon was and now I had to dance with him, I saw Caroline frowning at Klaus and I knew something happened with them two, I lined up and Damon stood opposite me as the music started to play. I couldn't even look at him right now but I had to, I placed my left hand against his nearly touching and we danced in a circle eyes fixed on each other, it reminded me of our miss mystic falls dance when we were together, it was magical. I placed my right hand against his and did the same and then we joined hands and waltzed around the room, I didn't know what to do or say and he kept staring at me right in the eyes.
"I'm sorry" he frowned
"Sorry for cheating or sleeping with a stranger?" I asked sarcastically
"Both.." He paused
"Sorry isn't going to cut it Damon" I frowned
"You can't ignore me forever" He frowned
"Yes I Can and I will but right now we need to get through this" I sighed
After a few minutes of dancing we stopped and then Damon twirled me and I landed right into Stefan's arms...
