Hi everyone!! So I don't know if anyone has read my bio, but I have a brother with autism.
It's sometimes hard, with sensory overload break-downs, his anxiety, and he also has selective mutism.
Most of you probably have no clue what I'm talking about, so I will explain: (note: all of these things are in my case, so I'm not really sure if they apply to all people with these disorders, but I'm fairly sure they do)

Selective Mutism: when a person is able to talk very easily with the people they are most comfortable around (I.e. Parents, siblings) but are unable to talk to people they aren't comfortable with. So don't think it's rude if you meet someone with SM and they almost completely ignore you. They are not being rude, they are actually incapable of talking to you. It's an anxiety thing.

Autism: there is a very wide scale of the severity of autism called the autism spectrum. If you are on the more mild side, you may have something like Aspergers' Syndrome, however a person on the more severe side may be completely physically incapable of speaking among other things.

It's often hard being a sibling to a child on the autism spectrum, or any child with any kind of disability, or as I prefer to say, different ability. We all love our sibling(s), but it's always hard. Between public meltdowns and the staring, and not being able to do something if it's not wheelchair accessible, or whatever your situation might be, it's hard.

But you aren't alone. You are never alone. If you are having sib problems, message me, I'll return the message ASAP.
