Simon stared up at the ceiling. After the battle with Sebastian, Clary and Jace had been training non-stop, and so had Isabelle. He knew why: Sebastian would come back, and when he did, everyone needed to be ready to fight back. Simon knew he should probably train some as well, but lately he really didn't have the motivation to do anything lately. Simon hasn't even gotten any blood the past couple days. It was weakening him considerably, but he still didn't get up.

His cell phone rang next to him. Simon picked it up and looked at it, the message was from Clary. Want to meet me at the institute, i need to chrstms shop???? He sighed inwardly. Simon texted back: yeah see you in 30? She responded immdiately. See you thn.

As soon as Jace and Clary entered the library, the Consul glanced in Clary's direction and told her to exit out of the room. "No. She's staying here." Jace said stubbornly.

The Consul stood indifferently. "This is of no business of Clarissa Morgenstern."

"Clary, please just leave." Maryse said. She looked so exhausted.

Jace started to argue, but Clary cut him off. "It's fine, I'll see you later." He felt her squeeze his hand, and took a finale look at Mom and the Consul, and left the library.

"What is so important Clary has to leave?" Jace said immediately after she left.

"We needed to discuss you, and the whole matter of this heavenly fire within you." The Consul said curiously.

Mom looked exasperated. "We have already discussed this!"

"Yes we have, but not with Jonathan himself."

"My name is Jace, not Jonathan. What do you want to know, I have already told the Clave all there is to tell."Jace said impatiently.

"What was Sabastian, as you call him, planning?"

"Oh, you know just the regular take over the entire human and shadowhunter race, and looking fabulously evil while doing it."Jace said, amused.

"I do not have the time for your antics Jace."

"Well apperently you do, because I already told all of this to he Clave, and yet, here you are, asking me again." Jace didn't know how Maryse did this all day; they were just going in circles.

" Jace, please just answer him!" Maryse yelled at him. " I am just as thrilled about this as you are, but please just answer him."

"No." Jace said angrily. " I'm not going through it again. If you feel like discussing something else, I'll be in the weapons room." He was sick and tired of this.

"Jace-" Maryse started, but he was already out the doors.

After Clary had left the library she had texted Simon to ask if he wanted to go shopping. He had accepted and now Clary was waiting for him on the institute stairs.

Just as Clary was about to text him where he was, he pulled up on the curb across the street in his sisters light grey Prius. Clary got up and walked across the street and got in the car on the passenger's seat.

"Why aren't you using your car?" She asked. After Simon had told his sister about him being a vampire, she had gotten Simon a Nissan Versa. Simon told her that his sister thought if he was ever in trouble, he could probably get away faster in a car. "It's in the shop getting an oil change."
