We start to sneak out. The guards are paying attention to the other bronzes outside, so we have a chance. I stumble and trip, catching myself. "You okay?" Teagan asks me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Kinda weak though, because of, you know. Food,." I whisper. 'I'll be okay."
"Just a little more," he whispers back. "Keep going. We're almost there."
I try walking, but struggle. "Teagan, there might be something wrong with my leg." I whisper. We sit down along the walls, hidden in the shadows.
"Let me see your leg." he says. I hold my leg up to his arms, and he holds my leg as he examines it. "This isn't good," he whispers. "This basically precludes our plan."
"What happened to my leg?" I ask while whispering. Something tells me this isn't good if it precludes our plan.
'Your leg..." he starts. "It's scratched up and bruised really bad. I don't know if you can make it out." That really isn't good. If we don't make it, we'll be stuck in here until forever. If we do, we will cause a pandemonium among the bronzes and they might even strike back.
"I will make it out. I will follow you and make it out alive for us. For all of the bronzes." I say. I didn't expect those words to come out of my mouth. Teagan sighs, and stands. He helps me up. He knows how tough I am, and how I will stand my ground and not let this idea pass.
We start sneaking out again. I see the cloister that leads to the door, point it out to Teagan, and we head out that way. Alarms aren't around because who would think that us "weak bronzes" would sneak out of their "majestic home" for them? Apparently, the person who is in charge of this totalitarian super continent is very stupid and doesn't know what us bronzes are capable of.
I fall to the ground with a thud. Teagan rushes over. I swing my arm over his shoulder, and use him to walk. We are still carrying our bags, mine on my back, his on his. I'm such a burden, but I don't want to turn into that recluse I was a few years ago. It was horrible. We finally get out, only to meet a chained electro-fence. Great. I just remembered something. Oh dear.
"Teagan?" I say.
"Hmm?" he asks, looking around. He's probably trying to find a way out.
"Did we forget that cloisonne bottle that had the poison so that we could spray officers if we saw them?" I ask him with a worried look. He looks at me with big eyes.
"Oh no..." he says. We immediately rush back in, but stroll like we were doing nothing.
"I'll go and get it, since I'm smaller, and you stay down here. Don't worry about me." I explain. I rush up, careful to stay silent while I do.
