This a variation of Short Story #2, so some stuff is copied and pasted. Enjoy!

I woke up to mom and dad yelling at each other. More like mom screaming and dad yelling. I did the regular things a fourteen-year old would do once they woke up, then went to Azariah's room to help her pack. She's headed off to college. Tyler died just a week ago, from tuberculosis. Mom and dad never noticed. Azariah and I are planning his funeral in a few weeks. I don't know why but mom and dad never cared about us. They're too busy arguing to care for our needs. Azariah had to get to work when she was fifteen to care for me and Tyler. She had to pay for everything from the start.
I feel like I'm living in a nightmare. I have so many questions for life. Why can't mom and dad divorce? What happens when Tyler dies? Why is life given to someone? Would it be better if everyone was dead? Hey, life, buddy, can you answer these please? Thanks.
Azariah's moving off. Why does she have to? She's going to our local college, so she'll only be a few minutes away. I'm almost certain she won't visit, though. Does she have a reason to come back to this place? I can't think of any reasons. I could probably get some money to go and see her, though.
I have plans, though. I want to run away. Run, and be free from this horrible place. I will take the last stop the the bus gives us. I'll request a remote place for me and see if I can survive on my own. I might run into someone on the way and I hope I can become friends with someone who has the same problems as me. I've packed most of my necessary items I will need. Mom and dad won't notice me gone.
As I was heading out the door, Dad caught me and called to me. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked.
"I'm going out." I answered.
"Out where?" asked my mom, a little bit of concern in her voice.
"Out to a friends. I'll be back in a few days." I lied.
"Ok. Be sure that you have everything. Why do you have such a big backpack and a suitcase?" mom asked.
"He asked me to bring all this stuff." I lied again, not feeling any guilt because I've done this before. What did you expect from a teen who lives in this household?
"Have fun." they both said, and rushed back to "work". No kisses, no hugs, no nothing. That's the way it has always been in our family.
As I got on the bus, he asked me before I took my seat, "Aren't you a little young to be on your own?" I thought Well yeah, I'm only 14, but I look like I'm 8 so, yes, I am underage, but I answered, "No, mister, I am old enough to go on my own." He just shrugged and said ok. I paid for the ride and I told him I wanted to go to a deserted place. He said a person younger than ME got off a stop a few years ago. He told me I would see it when I get there. I got comfortable and took a nap.
I woke up before we got to the unknown place. "ALMOST THERE!" the bus driver yelled. I nodded my head, not aware that the bus driver couldn't see me. I decided to do something productive, so I wrote in my journal. I was so happy I was literally going to run down the aisle, but thought, I am a sane person. I will not run down the aisle even though there is no one on this bus taking me to freedom. I didn't, I swear. There was a speed bump right before we got to the place, so my writing in my journal is a little faded.
When we get to the place, I recognize it immediately. It's the forest than Azariah used to take me to when I was little. She loves this forest. Now, I'm here, running away from life's problems. I say thank you and step off, not knowing that I will never see that bus again.
