I stood up in front of a small group of men and shouted,
"I need Corporal Frescot, Private Ryan, Private Sunderland, Private Yuntundo, and Corporal Garretts."
"No one knows where Private Ryan is."
"Okay then I'll take Private Marot."
All 5 of the men I called for came running up to me one by one, and when each one made it to me they saluted,
"At ease." I said
They all relaxed and followed me as we made our way to the supplies quarters.
"Grab a gun, canteen, and something to entertain yourself... can any of you translate German?"
Private Marot stepped froward and said
"I can sir."
"How much?"
"Enough to save our lives if we ever need it."
"That's what I like to hear whats your name?"
"Danny"
"Danny, you all can call me Ned or captain which ever you prefer, do I have a sniper here?"
Private Sunderland stepped forward,
"Best damn sniper on this here beach I can assure you that."
"Another great thing I love to hear, whats ya name?"
"Marc."
"Okay, Marc, make sure you grab a gun that you're comfortable with, who's my medic?"
Corporal Frescot stepped forward,
"That'd be me sir, hell I could probably bring a man back from the dead."
"Wonderful, whats your name?"
"Will."
"Will, go grab yourself whatever you need to do your duties."
"Yes sir."
There were only Garrets and Yuntundo left which also left my support and assault, but that didn't really matter to me they both were gonna do the same thing.
"Okay Yuntundo Whats your name?"
"Wei."
"Okay and yours Garrets?"
"Hank."
"Great okay both of you go grab what you need."
Within a few minutes i had my little platoon back all of them equipped with what they need and determination to make me proud.
"Listen up!, we are going about 32 clicks south to a downed airplane, the faster we move the faster we'll get there and hopefully we'll get there before any Germans do, any questions?"
Hank looked at me and asked "Why are we going there? it's just an airplane?"
"Yes it may just be an airplane but do you know whats on that plane?"
"Well, no."
"Exactly that's why we're going out there, to see if there is anything out there, any other questions?"
They all looked at me with a look of agreement.
"Let's be on our way then."
