"What happened?" Jane asked her best friend.

"I got kidnapped and got taken to this school that practices evil. They came to save me," she explained.

"What and you didn't tell us?" My mum said, angrily.

"That's why you stormed out of the house. That was a bit stupid and irresponsible, there are adult supernaturals that are there, who are a lot stronger than you," Jane said.

"I know mum but we didn't have much time. We needed to get to her as soon as possible," Nick explained.

"Yes, but it wouldn't have taken long at all to tell me," she said.

"I know mum, I'm sorry."

"Anyway, it's over and done with now. At least they're safe but don't ever do it again," Mum said firmly and we entered the farm. We all sat down in the lounge. I sat down on the sofa and Nick sat down next to me.

"Why did they kidnap you anyway?" Jane asked Emma who was sitting on a chair.

"Because we put their friend in jail, they wanted payback," she explained.

"That's a bit pathetic. He shouldn't have gone around attacking people in the first place," Bella said.

"So it looks like this isn't over. There is no doubt that they are going to start a lot of trouble in the village," Jane pointed out.

"We're going to have to keep an eye on them so they don't start hurting people," Emma agreed.

"I have a question. How come nobody has noticed the school before? And what about the mansion, it's huge?" I asked. The questions had been in my mind for a while now and they confused me. Surely people would have noticed it by now.

"There is a spell cast over the mansion. A sort of protection spell so that only supernaturals can find it and people who know about them. It has been that way since a hundred years ago. It was put in place to protect the non-supernaturals from knowing that it is here and mainly to protect us from them as there was a time when people tried to wipe us out because they wouldn't accept us, although now humans are more accepting of us. Most know that we aren't all evil and murderers, but some are still scared of the ones that are so that is why it is still in place. As for the school, I think that maybe they have a similar type of spell so that only the people in search of it can find it. Many supernaturals still know of it and where it is but they can't find it unless they are seeking it," my mum explained.

It made a little more sense now. "Okay, I understand," I said.

"Let me take a look at that leg," Jane said to Diego.

"It's fine honestly. It's just a sprained ankle," he replied.

"Let me look." She wasn't going to take no for an answer.

"Alright," he said and sat down on the sofa.

Jane kneeled on the floor and took a hold of his ankle so she could take a look.

"It does seem like a sprain. Can you move it?" She asked and let go of his foot.

He tried to move his ankle and managed to move it a bit.

"I think it will be okay. If you feel like it has gotten any worse tell us."

"Okay," he agreed.

A while later Emma went home so did Mum and me. Diego was staying over at Nick's house because it was too late for him to go home now, he lived a few miles outside the village. Jane had run to his auntie and uncle to tell them that he was sleeping over. I found out that he didn't live with his parents. He didn't get on with his dad so he moved out, to live with his auntie and uncle. I wasn't sure why he didn't get on with his dad, though.

When I and mum got home we had dinner. It was very tasty and filling; it was lasagna After I had finished I went upstairs and started to read the book of Shadows. I was already beginning to learn so much about spells and being a witch, that I felt myself getting stronger already. But there was so much I had yet to learn, and I was so excited. I mean I never believed magic existed, but I had always hoped and now I could do it myself. The past weeks hadn't seemed real but they had been. All the good and bad things that had happened, made me wonder about the future. How much did I have yet to find out?

My phone buzzed so I grabbed it from my bedside table, it was from Emilee. I opened it to read it.

Hey, what's happenin', Will? It said. She liked to joke around by calling me that. It was because my last name was Wilson, she thought it was funny but it wasn't. I texted her back.

Just hanging with friends earlier and getting ready for the school concert, Sander. I could play along at her game too. Her last name was Sanderson. I should have probably told her about everything else because we never kept secrets from each other, but I didn't know how to tell her. The time just didn't seem right. I would tell her but not just yet.

She texted back.

Cool R U playing guitar at the concert?

Yeah and singing

Whoa, I thought u were shy, u even get nervous singing in front of me. What if u going to do? What if u panic on stage? She knew how to make a girl feel better.

Nick is singing with me so I'm not by myself. U should hear him sing he is amazing. I texted her back.

That's good u won't be by yourself. Wait to hold up who's Nick? Her text read and was followed by a winking smiley face.

He's one of my friends, I told U about.

R U sure he's just a friend?

Yes, of course. I knew she was thinking that there might be something more to it, but she was wrong. No boy had ever liked me back and now that one did, I wasn't going to risk it, whether or not I liked him.

Well is he good-looking?

Yes, he is but for some reason not many people like him, but he is nice, and what has he been good looking have to do with anything when he's just a friend?

Nothing.

Do you want to date him? I joked, but she didn't reply. I didn't think it was because she didn't want to answer
She probably just ran out of credit. I looked at my phone to notice I had no signal, that's why she didn't text back; I couldn't receive it. I put my phone back on the table and returned to my book of shadows. Soon I fell asleep.
