dear darling,

i was thinking about our first day at school. when you moved here, you remember? it was sophmore year and it was february. the valentine's day dance was coming up and you seemed to look so scared whenever someone mentioned it. my best friend told me that three guys from math class had asked you to it.

thankfully you had declined all of them. even the one from jake stentsin - the most popular guy in our year. i had fun thinking about it at night later. i had though you said no to them because you wanted to go with me. and i think you did.

eight days later, it was monday and we were in study hour, you were sitting in front of me since mr orum made the new seating plan. and you turned around, the mechanical pencil tucked beneath your ear. you were so pretty, it was hard for me to breath. "wanna go to the dance, with me?" you looked petrified, but adorable.

obviously, after choking on my mint gum, i mumbled a yes.

the night of the dance, we were standing to the side. you'd asked if i wanted to dance, but i didn't know how. being the adorable thing you were, you didn't laugh at me.  you simply told me you couldn't either.

so we stood at the food table, and you ate muffin after muffin and i drank punch after punch. thankfully unspiked. but after a while, you seemed bored. so, gathering ever ounce of courage i had, i asked if you wanted to embarrass yourself with me and attempt a slow dance.

it was a stab in the dark, but i had hope.

you said yes, and climbed onto my shoes, wrapping your arms around my neck. if i wasn't holding you, i would've fallen.

we swayed together for the entire song, and when another played we kept going. it was beautiful.

          you made it beautiful.

reason three why i loved you: you danced with me.

                                                                                                                                                      love, me
