The Kill
My heart is racing,
My legs aching.
Every movement burns.
I can't breathe.
Everything comes to a stop.
I can't see.
The piercing sound starts again.
Make it stop.
I'm not in motion-
But,
It still feels like I am.
Everything keeps going except for me.
Then pain comes.
Every direction,
In every way,
Everywhere.
It keeps coming.
I try to scream,
Nothing comes out
Except for a childish laughter
In this dark, dark place.
The world is against me,
I've got nowhere to hide.
I'm left alone, except for one.
In your dark twisted ways
You find amusement in this,
Or,
Maybe I've mistaken it with you
Not believing what's happening.
As you walk closer,
Just for a second,
I thought:
Maybe you'd have a change of heart,
But I was wrong.
As you came closer,
Everything changed:
The scenery,
The feeling in my gut,
The look on your face,
Hell,
The look on my face.
It all became darker,
More,
More serious.
What I thought was laughter,
A change,
Was the exact thing I was running from.
Your love.
The exact thing make me run,
Killing me softly.
Your vortex lifted me closer to the sky
Making each breath
Harder to catch.
Your love is too much,
Too strong.
It pierces through my heart
Making me lose my grip on humanity.
From there,
Everything just...
Slipped away.
You see,
Your love is what was killing me.
Your love was too strong.
It was too much.
I was trying to run away from it all
Before it was too late.
Before I was-
-gone.
But,
You see,
You just went for The Kill.
