It's November. And we've slept with each other for 2 months now. My parents didn't know. And neither did his parents. I was at his house again and we weren't having sex anymore. Or not yet. But we were just talking.
"So how have you been," David asked. I mean. How could he not know? We've been together for two months and we see each other everyday.
"I've been great. Since I'm always with you, everything's great," I answered with a smile. He smiled back.
"How about you? You seemed zoned out today. Everything alright?" I asked feeling that something is bothering him.
"No everything's cool. I'm cool. You're cool. We're cool. It's all cool,"David responded. I knew he was lying.
"Okay," I put my feet on his bed and sat crisscross facing him,"what's wrong David?"
"Nothing Abby, it's fine," David lied.
"This reminds me of the first day we did it. And you wouldn't tell me what's going on. So, might as well spill it," I persuaded him.
"Kelly wants to get back together again."
My heart sank.
"Oh.." my voice cracked.
"Yeah. I know," David added.
"When did she tell you, or how do you know?" I was mad.
"Today at lunch. We bumped into each other and we started talking. She told me how much she misses me and that she wanted to get back together," David explained.
"What did you say?" I asked with a serious face. This could not be happening.
"I didn't say anything," David said quickly.
"I know you wouldn't just walk away after she talked to you. What did you say David?" I asked angrily.
"I told her, that I would think about it."
My face went blank. I didn't want to hear what he just said. In fact, no girl would want to hear what he said.
"Wait, so you're thinking of going back together with her?!"
"I didn't know what to say Abby. Okay I was confused and I didn't want to hurt her. She still doesn't know why I broke up with her. She's hurt enough," David started getting louder.
"I can't believe this."
"But I'm not going back together with her, and you know that. I promised you Abby," David assured me.
"Yeah sure," I started to tear up. I was too frustrated and looked away from him. I walked up from his bed and quickly got my backpack and was heading for the door. But, before I reached the door I felt someone's hand grab my arm.
"Don't!" I screamed angrily at him.
"Abby wait. Please. Listen to me," David started to calm me down.
"I'm not going to do this with you if I'm just one of your "choices," I explained. Tears started to come.
"Just let me go David," I added trying to get out of his arms.
"Abby you have to listen. Okay. I only told her I'd think about it because I didn't just want to say no right infront of her face. And I'm never leaving you Abby. I promised you that. I love you so much Abby you don't even know," David was tearing up too and started smiling at me. I felt his hands pulling me closer. I refused.
"How do I know that you will never leave me?" I asked moving away from him slowly.
"I promised you Abby. Have I ever broken a promise to you?"
It was true. He never broke a promise to me. I started to feel stupid.
"Look. I'm sorry Abby that I didn't tell you earlier. But, I knew you would freak out but I really didn't mean it when I said I'd think about it. I want only you Abby," David said as he pulled me closer to him. His hands now wrapping my back.
I looked down at him and I smiled.
"Okay I guess. I'm so stupid ugh. Why am I crying ha," I started to wipe my tears.
"No let me," David started wiping my tears away.
When he was done he looked into my eyes and smiled and I smiled.
"Do you promise me?" David asked.
"Promise you what?"
"That you will never leave me," David added. This seemed so easy to answer. Every girl would say yes to that question. But for me, this seemed so serious. Like a commitment. A promise. I put my hands on his cheeks as if I were preparing to kiss him.
"I promise," I said and I kissed him. I sat on his lap and continued to kiss him. Turns out we would have sex today.
