Piercing Silence

I'm lying in bed thinking, well thinking of nothing really. Don't get me wrong I'm not the quiet or the deep thinking type but I guess it was one of those days where I didn't feel like getting up and going to school.

I actually wanted to go back to sleep but that's impossible with my mom coming and waking me up again in about,
"Yesna, get up or you'll be late, and if your not down in, lets say ten minutes than I'll be giving your pancakes to your brother and I'm sure he won't mind a few more." She says with a smirk.
I'm out of my bed faster than superman. I hear her laughing but I don't care all I can think of is my food, I'm running down the stairs and into the kitchen where I see my loving yet lovingly annoying older brother Sarim about to take my pancake. I grab it before he can,

"That's mine, haven't you had enough yet." I sometimes can't help but wonder why guys need to eat so much. He's not fat, actually quite good looking. He's tall with a nice built, brownish hair and green eyes. Of course with girls trying to get his attention, his ego has gotten bigger.

"Nope, I only had about five so far."

"Really five, and I haven't even eaten one yet, so go steal someone else's but touch mine and your dead". I tell him, eyes narrowed.

Come on, you don't mess with a girl and her food, that's just wrong. Especially if she happens to be a food maniac.

He chuckles and steals one of Yelda's, his twin sister.

Right when he finishes it, she walks into the kitchen.
She looks for her breakfast but one look at her twin, she rolls her eyes and grabs an apple. Well she never really was a good maniac.

Yelda's really pretty with a nice figure, brownish hair falling in waves and the same green eyes as her twin. They both actually have that weird twin connection and if I didn't know them since I was a baby I would actually be freaked out.

Soon everyone comes in and starts to get their breakfast. First Mikael and Jibrael run in while laughing apparently excited about going to school. I don't understand how they like school so much, true they're only eight but still.

My other older brother Suliyman who recently graduated from college is walking in like the dead, not that I blame him, I'm not a morning person either.

His brown blondish hair looks messy and his green eyes can barely open, everyone in my family has green eyes other than me.

My sister Sara whose a year older than me comes in, with her hijab on and school bag, which makes me look at the time

"Oh shit, I'm going to be late!" I quickly stuff my mouth with the rest of my breakfast and run up to my room which I share with my sister Sara.

"No swearing." I hear my mom yell after me.

"Yes ma'am!"

The room isn't anything special except the two beds on either side. Me taking the farther side along with the window. I quickly rush to the bathroom, brush my teeth and come out. I take a pair of black jeans with a purple t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt because the t-shirt is half sleeve, wrap my hijab, grab my bag, leather jacket and rushed down.

I don't bother with make-up because lets face it, if I tried I'll look worse than a clown especially since I'm in a hurry, the only thing I do put on is some lotion and chap-stick.

I'm not short but I'm not tall either, I'm five five in height, have very dark brown hair with brown eyes. I look at the mirror in the hallway one last time, satisfied with myself I rush down the stairs.

"Finally! How long do you take." I don't usually get upset about being late but Sara and I always had a rocky relationship. I could have ignored her but I also wanted to provoke her.
