A weird feeling filled the air, today was definitely going to be different. I couldn't dwell though because I had to hurry and get ready for school. My mom is the office secretary or whatever so we usually get there pretty early.

I hurry and put on jeans, a black t-shirt, and a white Levi jacket. Then I carefully put on my three necklaces: my wiccan pentacle with its hanging crystal, my red turtle carved out of stone, and my owl key. "Hurry upstairs, its almost time to go." My mom hollered down the stairs.

"I'm hurrying." I scrambled around for my remaining stuff before jogging upstairs.

My mom gave me a warm smile, "You ready to go?" I nodded and we were off.

As soon as we got to the school I headed straight for Rich's room. That's the place I felt most comfortable. I opened the door with the key my mom gave me as soon as she started working at the school, and like clockwork Rich smiled, "Good Morning."

A huge smile spread across my face, Rich was like a father to me. I loved him, he was my best friend. He knew pretty much everything about me. "Good Morning, how are you?"

"Pretty good, I've been working on making a hydrogen bubbler but didn't have my trusty assistant around to help." I smirked knowing he really meant that he couldn't do it by himself and needed help. It was my favorite thing to do anyway so of course I didn't object. We fiddled away until the bell rang. "Damn, well we can work on it tomorrow morning." We looked around the room, which was a total mess. "But first...we have to quickly clean this up." Rich and I moved like the speed of light and within a few minutes the room was clean.

I smirked happily as I sat down in my seat as the rest of the students started to file into the room. Lindon sat in the seat next to me and Archer sat down in the seat kiddy corner to me. I smiled over at him, but he had a worried expression on his face. I leaned over to him, "Archer, what's wrong?"

"Can't you smell it?"

I nodded and he just looked away, like it frightened him. The scent drifted around, my instincts made me want to explore but I couldn't. What could be causing it.... It was like there was a disturbance in the school. I needed to talk to the whole pack.

Just then Rich's phone rang, snapping me out of my deep thought. "Of course, I'll send her right down." I heard Rich say from across the room. "Deno, office please."

Archer snickered and I stuck my tongue out at him. "Sure thing." I got up, strode out of the room, and towards the office. "What did I do now." I muttered to myself. But the most unnerving part was that the scent kept getting stronger and stronger. It was like another one was here, but I thought that there weren't very many of us... I walked into my mom's office, "You called for me Mrs. Baxter?" When its during school hours I sometimes call my mom by her title.

"Yes. Deno I would like you to meet Miss Kittyana. She's a new student in your home room and you two have three classes together. I was hoping you would show her around."

I smiled knowing my mom was trying to hook me up with more friends, but I was guessing she saw something I didn't. "Of course, I would be happy to." I turn around and bam! This tall, slender girl with neon multicolored hair girl was sitting in front of me. She was the one causing all the commotion in my senses. She was beautiful, I was immediately jealous. I had to say something though, I couldn't just stand there and gawk. "Dude, your hair is badass." I walked towards her, she stood as I got to her.

"Thank you." She mutters shyly.

I stuck my hand out at her for a handshake, "The name's Deno, nice to meet you."
