Needless to say, Ethan had been slightly distracted while he took that test, but he knows that he still did well. He had finished with 15 minutes of class left; he could see that Aaron was finishing up his test as well, and Ethan told himself to wait on his friend.

Aaron rose from his seat and turned his test in and saw that Ethan was waiting on him, "You didn't have to wait," he murmured when he slid back in his seat next to Ethan.

Ethan shrugged at him, "Did you want to get lunch before I go to work tonight?"

"Are you sure?" Aaron asked, sliding his messenger bag over his shoulder. He got up and followed Ethan out of the classroom and followed him outside, as he stood behind Ethan, he could see how stiff his friend's shoulders looked, "E? Everything okay?" he asked, sliding up on his right.

"Yea," Ethan shrugged, not minding the physical contact Aaron gave him, arm going over his shoulders. He heard Aaron sigh lowly and Ethan felt a little guilty, "I...uhh, met Grayson and Alex, Nate's friends."

Aaron's eyebrows rose at this, "Really? When did you see Nate again? I haven't seen him since we all had lunch together."

"Today," Ethan answered him.

They were heading towards Taco Bell; cheap, but good.

"Did anything else happen?" Aaron asked; he wasn't for sure why that would have Ethan acting so cagey. He knew that Ethan got nervous around new people, but hid it well, anyone would think that Ethan trained himself to be emotionless to prepare himself for his major, so he acted indifferent towards people, but Aaron knew the truth.

Ethan avoided telling his friend about the weird encounter he had with Grayson earlier before class. He shook his head and walked up to the counter to order his food, "I've got yours too, I owe you, remember?"

Aaron just smiled, "Don't worry about it, Dude, if anything, I owe you for dragging you into a social mess."

Ethan still insisted on paying, and he only managed by stealing Aaron's debit card, and only gave it back to him after Ethan had paid for them. He ignored Aaron's punches on his shoulder and thrust a cup into Aaron's hands, "How's Jack?" he asked, since Aaron and him were living in the same dorm together.

"He's fine, he hasn't been talking to Nate either," Aaron said, moving to pick a table after they filled up their cups at the fountain.

Ethan slid into the booth across from Aaron, "That's good, I was worried for him."

"You worry too much," Aaron chided him. "But Ethan, you still seem tense, are you sure nothing happened?"

"No," Ethan lied easily. "Just be cautious around Nate, okay? His friends too."

"Are they sketchy too?" Aaron was at disbelief. He heard their number being called and he got up to get their tray that had their tacos and burritos on it and came back to their table, nodding at Ethan's thanks.

"I couldn't really get a read on Alex, but Grayson...he's more terrifying than Nate," Ethan fought back the nauseated feeling that went through his stomach at the last thing Grayson had told him in the library. "If anything, I wouldn't be alone with Grayson or Nate."

Aaron knew to take Ethan's advice seriously when his friend looked like that, as it made him nervous when Ethan's dark eyes would almost become stone cold, the way he would hunch on himself, and how his hands slowly closed into fists. It was obvious that Ethan was paranoid and had trust issues, but he was a good judge of character, as Ethan had stopped him and Jack from getting into bad situations back in high school, saving their skins, and future careers from being ruined because of some shady kids they had gone to school with, who had lied about who they really were.
