IN THE SMALL TOWN OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE, a young woman walked out of her house, yelling for her dog.

"Rudy!" She brought her fingers up to her mouth, whistling loudly. "Rudy! Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you." She said as she bent down to pick up a dog toy from the grass. When she stood back up, Klaus and Violet stood there. Klaus with his arm wrapped innocently around her waist and both with friendly grins plastered on their faces.

The woman jumped with a small gasp. "We are so sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." Klaus told her with a faux American accent.

"Can I help you?" The girl glared. "Yeah, our car ran down a couple of miles back. It feels like we've been walking forever. Yours is the first house we've come to, so we were just hoping that we could use your phone." Violet spoke up sweetly.

The still nameless girl eyed them down. "Don't either of you have a self phone. Violet pulled hers from her back pocket and waved it in front of her. "Dead. And my boyfriend here," she pointed to Klaus. "Forgot his at our home." Klaus pretended to smile sheepishly and shrugged, not bothering to conceal his grin at the fake title. At the girls hesitance, Klaus sighed. "Look, I promise neither of us are serial killers. We just want to use your phone." He insisted.

Finally, she sighed. "Sure." She turned to walk away so Klaus spoke up. "So..we can come in?"

"No." The woman replied. "I'll be the phone and bring it out to you."

With his patience wore thin, Klaus glared and dropped his fake accent. "I though your country folk were supposed to be more trusting." He said with his normal, British voice.

"I'm from Florida." She bit back sassily.

"Well that explains it." He muttered before quickly speeding over to her and grasping her neck in his hands and began to compel her.
"Now, show us a little southern hospitality, sweet pea."

When the three of them entered the house, there was another woman. She was dark skinned with long, black curly hair, walking around the kitchen as she cooked.

"I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning." She joked. But her smile quickly fell as she turn and saw her friend with tears streaming down her face, being held by Klaus with Violet by his side.

"What's going on?" She asked a bit fearfully.

"Please don't be alarmed." Klaus smirked. "I'm told Ray Sutton lives here."

The woman lifted her chin with confidence. "He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly."

"But I expect he makes it home...once a month." The hybrid said knowingly. She swallowed thickly, her eyes flickering from her friend to Klaus and Violet.
