"It's Friday. I don't wanna go..." I groan, not wanting to move a single toe off of my bed. I yawn and lay there for about 10 minutes, thinking about how important school really is and how much it would cost me to skip a day. Then, I finally got up and stretched. I took my long, brown hair and put it in a ponytail. I put on my Slipknot shirt and my blue jeans on. I put on a black hoodie, since it was supposed to be kinda chilly out there. I then put on my black Chuck Taylor Converse. I tucked my ponytail into my shirt, placing my hood over my head. I picked up my heavy backpack and placed it on my left shoulder and went out the door. As soon as I shut the door, the wind hit me and I tucked my hands in my jacket pockets. I start to walk down the road. I could see my breath and I could barely feel my nose or cheeks. I decided, when I was barely passed my house, to put in my headphones. I kept walking and forgot about the cold and listened to the music. I went on autopilot. A few minutes later, I hear a siren going down the highway. What the hell happened this time... I just shrugged it off and kept walking. I live in the Just Busted cover and Christian side of Georgia. My uncle Sam has been there so many times that I don't even remember what he looks like or what he ever looked like. It's pretty normal to hear the sirens go off every now and then. I looked up and I was at the school parking lot. I sighed and headed towards the doors and stepped right in the building. Man, I hate this place... School is the English term for Hell. I hated every moment I ever had in school, except a few moments. Very few, but happy, moments. I went on to my first class, Biology I, hoping it wouldn't be as bad as it could be. Sometimes it works, sometimes.
"Open your books to page 563. We'll be learning about the mRNA, tRNA, rRNA, and DNA today. The m in 'mRNA' means messenger. mRNA helps..."
Great, another boring day here. I look around me and I see 20 other people, about the usual amount. I hear something from my right. I focused in on that noise.
"Psst!" Oh, someone's calling for me, I think.
"Kathryn! Psst! Hey!" I look over and Emily, an old friend of mine, was calling me. She had the biggest grin when I saw her. I wonder why she's trying to call me...
"What?" I ask in return of her not-so-quiet calls.
"Wanna come over to my place today? Mom won't be there to bother us, she's got a meeting with the board. She won't be back 'till late tomorrow."
Hmm... Eh, why not? "Yeah, cool. I'll see if I can come over."
"Yes!!"
"Ahem. Emily, is there something you'd like to tell the class? You're obviously excited about something. I'm sure EVERYONE would love to hear about it."
Emily froze for a second and her grin turned into a confused and scared expression. "N-no Sir... I-I just.. I was practicing my acting for Theater class. I guess I'm a little pumped up. I couldn't help it, I'm sorry..." Wow, she played that off pretty good, for a constant liar.
"Ah, well, I'm sure Ms. Flannigan would be happy to hear that you're excited but, right now, we're learning about Biology. Ahem, so, as I was saying, rRNA makes some..." I couldn't help but crack up with the rest of the class, as he said all of that. She looked at me and shrugged. In my third block class, there was a new kid. She had nice curves, a beautiful smile, and silky blond hair.
"Class, this is Page Wilkins. She transferred here from a school in Kentucky. Page, why don't you sit with miss Kathryn back there?" She silently walked over in my direction, all the boys checking her out, as she passed by. As she sat down, she said something but I didn't know what because her breath was cool and had hit my ear, making me shiver. By then, I realized that I was sitting right next to a gorgeous, no, stunning girl.
