Alec had disappeared in the fifteen minutes Estella was with her brother, Jaxon. She checked the weaponary, the control center, and after asking a couple of shadowhunters where his bedroom was, she checked there too, but he was no where in sight. Sighing, the teen began to rack her brain on ideas to find Alec. She didn't have her own cell phone and she couldn't ask anyone where he was because no one would know anyway. The raid on the vampires was an unsactioned mission, and Estella wasn't going to accidentally rat the group out.
As her eyes scanned over Alec's plain and dark bedroom, she saw a discarded bracelet lying almost hidden underneath a pile of dirty laundry. She quickly picked it up, and knew exactly where Alec was almost the minute she began tracking him through the bracelet. Estella smiled in satisfaction and looked down at the beaded bracelet. It wasn't until now that she got a good look at it that she realized how pretty the bracelet was, and how much it reminded her of Alec. The beads consisted of mixed hues between navy blue and black, and they were held by a gold wire that crossed all around the beads and a chain connected them together.
Estella hurriedly shoved the bracelet into her pocket just in case she lost the tracking, and left the Institute unnoticed.

"You better get ready," Izzy smirked up at her brother as her whip began to descend into her hand. Alec raised his bow, an arrow already aimed at the door which was the only thing that shielded the two shadowhunters from the hungry night children. Just as Izzy looked back at the door, it was burst open and a dozen vampires began to attack the siblings.
Izzy extended her tan arm and threw it in front of her body, making the whip circle a vampire's ankle and tighten around his dead skin. He fell to the ground and Izzy pulled on her whip until she was able to plunge her seraph blade into the vampire's chest.
Alec released his bow, missing one vampire when it ran out of the arrow's reach, but it hit the vampire behind him anyway, sending him to combust into red flakes. He readied his arrow again and was able to take down another vamp until out of nowhere, he felt a sharp pain on his back and he was suddenly sent flying into a wall of buttons and fallen wires. He got up as quickly as he could just in time to see a vamp grab Izzy's whip as she raised it in the air and pull it from her grasp. Izzy looked back at her brother, trying to mask her surprised expression as she yelled for him to fight. Alec ran towards Izzy, both of them immediately going into a defensive stance with their backs pressed against each other.
More than a dozen vampires circled the siblings and Alec cursed under his breath, indirectly blaming Jace and his naive thinking.
"This isn't fun anymore." Izzy yelled over this hissing vamps to her brother who rolled his eyes.
"On my count," Alec looked over his shoulder. Izzy's brown eyes locked with his and she nodded as she blew fallen hair out of her face.
"One." The vamps began to gnaw at the air, their sharp teeth baring at the two siblings.
