"I cannot believe I'm doing this, Kyle."

"Well, you better believe it 'cause you got us into this whole mess in the first place, Jerry."

"It's not my fault I loan money from shady figures I meet at a bar... when I'm drunk."

"..."

"What? I'm kidding."

The two teenage boys ride off into the night on their bikes. Suddenly, Jerry veers drastically to the right when they should have been going straight. They stop in front of a house in the middle of the suburbs.

"Jerry, what are we doing at your house?"

"My mom is staying late at work and I can't allow her to know of what we're doing."

"Don't tell me that we have to bring your-"

"We have to bring my sister."

"We can't bring a kid with us on a robbery!"

"Shhh," Jerry tries to calm Kyle, only to make his eyebrows furrow even more. "I'm sorry but I have no choice. Now, I'll be right back. I have to talk to my neighbor."

A few minutes pass before Jerry returns carrying a tired girl who wears white footsie pajamas with black spots.

"What kind of pajamas are those?" Kyle criticizes.

"These happen to be my Lydia's favorite pajamas," Jerry defends his sister who simply wants to sleep on his shoulder. "Cows are her favorite animal-"

"Don't care," Kyle says. "Now let's go."

Jerry, then, returns to his bike, having to hold Lydia in his lap the entire trip.

"Are you sure about this, Jerry?"

"About what?"

Kyle motions to the girl on Jerry's lal who cuddles in his shoulder.

"Oh, yeah, she'll be fine," Jerry waves a dismissive hand at Kyle. "She's a tough cookie."

"But she's a cookie," Kyle emphasizes, "and all cookies crumble."

Jerry blows him off. "You don't know what you're talking about."

A few minutes later, Jerry and Kyle drop their bikes at an abandoned  McDonald's parking lot.

"Alright, pumpkin," Jerry says to Lydia. "It's time to get to work."

"You better hope she doesn't get into trouble," Kyle says.

Kyle and Jerry place ski masks over their faces and put on brand new gloves. With their dark clothing, they camouflage into the night.

"Alright, Lydia. Come put on your ski mask," Jerry beckons for his sister.

She easily complies without a sound, but when Jerry places the mask over her curly red hair, Lydia complains.
