"I thought I could trust you!"
Her eyes begin to sweat and her limbs shake. She opens her mouth again slowly to speak.
"I thought you said that we were friends."
The old woman holds her gun steady on the child, having pulled it out of her personally-knitted purse.
"I lied." Her lips pull up into a sly smile. "You believed me." She cocks the handgun, causing the young girl to flinch. "Who's the stupid one?"
"But Ms. Flowers-"
"That's not my name, child." The elderly woman cut in. "Before you die, the least you could know is that my real name is Julia Winters."
The girl falls weak at her knees. "Grandma?" She covers her mouth as she gasps. "I thought you were dead-"
"Everyone thought I was dead, sweetheart." She rolls her eyes. "That's the point of faking your own death."
"But why? Why fake your death? Why shoot me? Why get close to me at all-"
"All questions will be answered in the afterlife."
"But I don't want-"
The gun flares, the bullet piercing through the girl's gut.
She falls to the floor, trying to grasp on to any form of life within her.
Julia Winters takes her walker and makes her way to the struggling, dying child.
"Oh, Avery." She hovers over her. "Sweet, innocent, and naive Avery." She glares down at her. "I never liked you."
"And all I ever did," Avery groans in agony, feeling faint at the amount of blood on her hands and garments, "was love you."
One last tear falls before Avery releases one final breath.

ello readers! Two parts in one day, I know. I'm on a roll. This one is just a short quick one. Hopefully you like this one, despite its length.
How did you feel about the enemy being an elderly woman? I thought it was a unique idea and decided to go with it.
Again, I hope you like this part. Don't forget to show your support through voting and commenting.
Thanks for reading. 😊

RandomJust a mix of writing prompts I find interestingly enough to write. You may read, comment, and use the prompts yourselves! You can even suggest some prompts, if you'd like. I will try to shorten each prompt to one part, but I may try to add suspense...
