(A/N Do not worry the big reveal is coming soon xD)

Astrid's POV

I asked him. I asked him the one thing that nobody dared or had chance to ask... and I'm still alive! However I did NOT expected the answer being...my gosh I didn't know it's his weak spot, I'm still wondering why I still have my head. But the answer...

"I wouldn't kill him because he looked as frightened as I was... I looked at him... and I saw myself."

I deny to admit. I don't want to... but.. Stormfly's actions... I wasn't open minded enough to see earlier, but her eyes showed intelligence... like a human.

The twins were screaming. Again. Yap. Certainly more intelligence than in theirs!

I walked over to the huge pile of fish that remained from the meal. At least we have some food to bring back...

*Fishleg* - Hey... Astrid?

- What is it?

*Fishleg* - ... what happened? I've just saw you getting off the nightfury.

- ...he was about to leave when the nadder thought it would be fun to follow them. With me.

*Fishleg* - What?!

Another loud screech from our group of mindless vikings, I squinted at them annoyed.

- Let's head to the boat.

*Fishleg* - Um. Okay.

Yap. I don't need Snotlout or Ruff and Tuff hear it... but I know I can trust Fishleg, and now I really need to talk this out. We disappeared in the woods straight back to our original camp, where everything was as we left it, than to the boat. At this place I was fighting with him... he could take me down anytime, he demonstrated it and now I know it. His power.  What made him a leader. He is not tall or muscular... but he doesn't lead with this type of power. It's his skill. He did not show much, but I firmly believe it was on purpose... but as he could dodge me effortlessly, or how he knew something is in the water even as he pinned me down with a little move... now... I think I know what the dragons see in him.

*Fishleg* - So... what happened next?

- The dragon lost me in the air... but the Rider saved me.

*Fishleg* - I've never heard he would save someone besides dragons! It's crazy!

- Yes, it is crazy. Indeed. We rode his dragon - I'm rather not telling about my little flight.

*Fishleg* - RODE?

- Yes... - I looked at him, aaaand his curiosity was annoying - Yes... It was like what it sounds like, but If you tell this to anyone I'll kill you. - He nodded immediately - But the point is... I asked him the age old question.

*Fishleg* - How he managed to become the rider of a NIGHTFURY?

- Yes. You heard it too, when he said "...before I became a rider...", right? So I asked him if his home was hunting dragons. And they were.

*Fishleg* - Than how?!!!

- It looked like it's quite sensitive spot but I still got thr answer out of him... and... I still can't accept it...

*Fishleg* - What did he say?

- He said exactly that: - I tried to imitate his voice - "I wouldn't kill him because he looked as frightened as I was... I looked at him... and I saw myself."

*Fishleg* - In the dragon's eyes?!

- He said so.

He looked over to the horizon again, somehow to the same direction where HE left... with his little crew. I see his longing eyes... and I can't say I don't understand it. He wants to know more. He wants to understand.

*Fishleg* - ... can it be...? We are the ones who know it wrong all alone?

I've never really thought of doubting the teachings of our elders, to question a tradition that's been standing for centuries... I always respected them... but now? I'm not so sure.

- After this night... I don't know anymore. I might be out of my mind, but after this? I start to accept his view.

*Snotlout* - Accept with what, sweetheart?

- Nothing.

*Tuffnut* - Can you accept nothing?

I sighed.

- How does Gobber doing?

*Snotlout* - Still out for good.

*Fishleg* - What shall we do?

- Let's head home. We have that pile of fish from last night, I think it's enough for now.

We spent the morning by getting our stuff together and thanks for some kind of miracle the food didn't go waste under these idiots' hands. We set sail home, and we agreed on not telling anyone about the last night... at least I and Fishleg did. The Rider was right nobody would believe it. Especially if the twins will be saying it... Snotlout is not much better, so the village already know they are not trustworthy anyways..

Gobber woke up during the afternoon, and asked what happened with the Rider, and thanks Thor I was the first to spoke up.

- He asked us what we are doing here, and never ever steal his stuff again, than flew off.

*Gobber* - So it was his? And nothin happened?

- Nothing much. We decided to sail back.

*Gobber* - Did ya get any food?!

I gestured towards the fish pile.

- Kinda. We had a lucky catch in the morning. Probably the Rider's dragons scared them to the surface.

*Gobber* - Good! I'm glad you all are okay. Be aware, all I know, is the Traitor is same as the dragons. Go for the kill... he could be back anytime!

(A/N Sorry for the short chapter. The next one will be way more longer :3 Btw. In the movies and in the series I feel like Berk is just holding Hiccup down, he can't do much thing because the others ruin his plans. I pretty much see him as a good leader, he saw what it is like losing some one, he was tortured ect... he knows the world but still optimistic, sarcastic and try to be diplomatic without being way too naive.)
