Astrid's POV
Nearly getting himself killed again, Hiccup simply left the scene with haste, leaving they all in an awkward silence. He looked like who needs some space, which was confirmed by ordering even Toothless to stay away... who made a distressed sound alongside with Stoick. The dragon stared at him with wide eyes, although the interest was lost pretty quickly much to the delight to Stoick... although the huge men got tail-slapped by the before disappearing.
I had no idea what to do, just watch everything from the distance. My dragons seemed to be sad for angering him, but as soon as we raise into the air, their mood changed back.
Despite Hiccup's words the dragon settled down on Gothi's hut waiting patiently, until he came out, following him to the cliff and sit down.
While doing some air acrobatics I kept close eye on him, it was a beautiful sight to see him having that type of relationship with his dragon. I can only envy him for getting along that perfectly.
To my surprise, the savage little leader terror appeared again, it's a wonder why that one did not left with Eret and the others.
Toothless' POV
Finally. Finally. My other half is calm. Injured but healing.
Resting on the ground, I heard Gem's not so subtle approach with the loud blacksmith. I rase my head to look at them... with widening eyes I laughed.
The little evil was dragging along the big guy who desperately fought against the "brute force", but obviously found it hard to do so. Due to the size difference he could easily hurt him now, he was caring towards the little one.
As the Alpha now I accept him, from now on he is officially part of my flock. He cares about those who belongs to me, both dragons and humans... and Hiccup as well.
Mentioning him, he spotted them later, his mood become better, relaxing as they made their way over to us. Soon he was tensing up in way of nervousness he always do if he feels lost and has no idea what to do.
Gobber, realising he is only a few feet away from us, gave up the fight. Gem obviously satisfied with his achievement, unabashed jump on me, proudly sitting on the top of my back.
I rolled my eyes, not giving any praise for such a cocky dragon, the fact the scaly butt can remain on me shall be enough.
With my tail I patted the ground beside Hiccup as a sign to sit down, than giving space was a vain attempt.
Both human still loss on words stared at each other.
I huffed and pushed him forward with my tail, cutting off any other escape of his.
Hiccup getting my intentions, he patted the ground as well. With a sigh, finally sitting down they can talk.
The humans way of show affection is talking.
*Gobber* - Well. Uh. Hi.
*Hiccup* - Hi.
*Gobber* - So it was you all along.
*Hiccup* - Yeah. It was me all along.
*Gobber* - You got far kiddo.
*Hiccup* - ...
*Gobber* - ...
*Hiccup* - How are you holding up with Gem?
*Gobber* - That little son of Loki? Is that even a question?
*Hiccup* - Haha. You are right. Come over here you little trouble maker.
Gem hopped off into his lap with smug look. Scratching under his head immediately became numb, laying down.
*Gobber* - It always amaze me how you can handle these beasts.
*Hiccup* - Haha. It is easy. Really. Here, try it.
Before he could obligate, Gem jumped over, sitting straight.
*Gobber* - But...!
*Hiccup* - Just a bit lower where his eye is.
I leaned forward placing my head by his, letting him show how it's done, I let my head fell onto his folded legs, purring happily, while Hiccup was telling more instructions.
When silence fell over them, I opened my eyes just to see Gem rolling to his back showing his stomach, skillfully leading the man's hand over the sweetspots, wiggling in bliss.
*Toothless* - You little attention whore.
*Gem* - Envy.
Hiccup laughed and translated. Soon I was getting fed up with the annoying little bastard, so I leaned over to lick the blacksmith.
I did not care the protests, I'm used to it by now.
*Gobber* - EWW! GROSS!
*Hiccup* - Wow. Toothless really likes you.
*Gobber* - Heh. I can see that! Can he NOT do that?!
*Hiccup* - Get over it. It's a honour!
*Gobber* - To get soaked with dragon grossness? Nope!
*Hiccup* - It's a dragon ritual.
*Gobber* - Whatever.
*Hiccup* - Now you are officially under the mighty nightfury's protection, as the member of the flock.
*Gobber* - What.
*Hiccup* - He just marked you. Dragon thing, don't mind it. Just no dragon will try to bite more limbs from you. Not anymore.
*Gobber* - What do you mean?
*Hiccup* - Now every dragon knows you are his. Basically a big flag over your head, "don't mess with me, I'm the alpha's favourite". Don't worry he will repeat it only every month or so.
*Gobber* - Oh. Uh. Thanks. I guess...
*Hiccup* - You don't like the idea to be protected by the best dragon in the archipelago?
*Gobber* - Of course! It's just still weird...
*Hiccup* - You will get used to it.
I examined him for a while, as he was pointlessly trying to get rid of my mark, it's always funny to see their struggle.
*Gobber* - What... are you planning to do? What did that old woman tell you?
*Hiccup* - It was a prophecy. I must stay for the shake of Berk. I have to.
*Gobber* - And?
*Hiccup* - For everyone's safety I'm making this place dragon friendly. They can protect you all, in the time of need.
*Gobber* - Hm. It's not impossible but certainly will be hard. This little fella already got on my good side, you have all my support. I'll help you as much as I can.
*Hiccup* - Thank you. Means a lot....
Suddenly we heard a girly death scream, all of us hopped on our feet... when we spotted Astrid falling down by the cliff. I stared down after her, Stormfly caught her. However both of them clumsy like a newborn, struggling with every move. I raised my head to laugh at the sky, while she shouted something about her being fine.
She threw a rock at me angrily, which I have no idea where she got from, was such a poor attempt to shut me up just caused me to laugh even louder.
I was force to have a nice chit-chat with the offended females, I believe I managed to enrage them more, when I picked up a sentence from behind me. I raised my ear to hear it more clear and I looked at them.
*Gobber* - ...welcome home, my boy.
With that Gobber gave him a warm bearhug.
He definitely belongs to our flock from now on.
(A/N: Sometimes I find it difficult to come up with conversations that leads to the point I want them to. Most of those were made when I had no idea to go with them, so any outcome is fine... not this time... the next one will be even more complicated.
Btw. I'm so annoyed by not being able to make accent. I would like to do it so badly and I just can't y.y whenever I try I fail miserably xD)
