Chapter 4

I got a shower, put back on my makeup, put my hair up and got dressed back into my dress. All that took about 2 hours. When I was done I walked out of the bathroom and didn't see Henry anywhere. I walked outside my room and saw him.

"I guess you're ready to go." he said.

"How did you guess, come on." I said walking toured the door.

"Well, wait for me, I'm the host."

He runs over to me and opens the door. He offers my his arm and, of course, I take it. He leads me down the hallway, and then down the stairs to the living room. I look and see 4 people sitting down. We walk up and I'm introduced by Henry.

"Mom, Dad, Liz, this is Sara." he said.

"Hi, I'm guessing you're Liz, I've heard so much about you. And you two must be Mr. and Mrs.Arnett. It's a pleaser to meet you." I say to them.

"Oh, call me Marisa, and call him Chance. I was so excited see you, so was Liz." Mrs.Arnett said.

"Oh, were you, well Henry must have told you a lot about me. But there is one thing you don't know about me, and I'm willing to show you it right now. The reason I came here was to find my match to my necklace, and I think I found my match."

I pull out the box from behind me and prepare to open it.

"I was told that when I was born, my mom cried in my dads arms. I never knew why till years later when my best friend showed me a picture of Henry's necklace. At first I thought it was gust a hoax to get me excited, but then I started to thing it might be true. I'd never think that a poor girl would go up to a rich man and go 'hi, I'm your soul mate'. When I got here, the first person I met was Henry. I ran into him with coffee, trying to take off my necklace. I wanted to show him this the moment I met him, but I was afraid of what might happen. But now, I think I'm ready to see what it is that I'm afraid of."

I open the box and get many wide eyes and gasps. I look down and almost faint. The necklace was, gone.

"No,no. Where is it, where is it?" I mumble.

"Where's what, Sara?" asked Marisa.

"The necklace, my necklace, it's gone."

I drop the box and run to my room to see of I could find it. I looked on my bed, dug in my bag and even looked in the bathroom, nothing. I dug in my purse and shoe bag, still nothing. I sit down on my bed and put my face in my hands. I think of one other place where it could be and come up short. I then feel someone sit next to me. I look up and see Liz.

"So, have you found your necklace yet." she said.

"No, I don't know where it could be. I make sure that I alway know where it is, in the box." I say getting up.

"This box." she holds up the box. "I saw it on the floor and thought I might bring it to you. Do you think anyone might have gotten in here without you knowing."

"No, wait. This morning I was in the bathroom getting ready and I heard something. I thought it was coming from outside, so I ignored it. It must have been someone in my room. Oh no, I know who took the necklace."

"Who, who."

"You're not going to like this, but Dan."

I ran back into the hallway and turn back to see Liz standing beside me holding the box. I take it from her, and walked down the rest of the hallway and down the steps back to the living room. I walk over to Henry and whisper something in his ear.

"I need to talk to you, privately. I know who has the necklace." I whisper.

Before he could answer, Dan walks over to me and grabs my arm.

"I need to speak to you, now." he said with an edge in his voice.

I look at him with fear in my eyes and start to walk. I look at Liz and give her a nod, telling her to tell them who it is.

I turn back around and continue walking. Dan still has his grip on my arm and he was not letting go any time soon.

"Mom, this Dan guy's a jerk." Jamie said.

I look at her and then almost scream.

"Hay, that's my brother you're talking about, but yes, he is." Henry said from the door way.

"Dangit Henry, never snick up on us like that. You almost gave me a heart attack." I say turning my head to face him.

"Hay, it's what I do." he said with a grin walking away.

"Hehe, you and dad really like each other." Jamie said.

"Well ya, he my husband, now where were we."

"Dan took you away."

"Well look who's paying attition

He walks into a room and pulls me in too. It was dark, but there was enough light from a window to see it was another bedroom.

"What do you want?" I ask.

"This." he said.

He grabs my other arm and places his lips to mine. I struggle to get away, but his grip was to tight. I finally stop and think. What is a way that I could get away. I start to walk backwards, but he follows. I keep moving backwards till I ran into something. I then feel Dan move his grip down to my hands. He then started to whisper to me.

"You should know that I'm the one who has it, me. But I'll never tell you where it is. Now stop struggling and relax." he whispered.

He leaned in again, but I turned my head.

"Why are you doing this to me, we've only known each other for 2 days. Is all this just because of the necklace, is that it." I say turning back to face him.

"Yes, and if Henry gets his girl first, he'll get the fame, money and publicity. No, that's why I must change your mind, make you forget about the necklace, forget why you came here. But first, relax." he said.

He grabs my shoulder and moves it back. My body went limp and I fell backwards. He then moves his arm up holding a cloth.

"Now, sleep and forget everything that's happened these last 2 days. Forget all about the necklace." he said putting the cloth to my face.

My body was still limp, so all I could do was try to move my head away. I tried but it was to late. I stopped struggling and blacked out.
