Two years passed, with no letters from Frisk. There was plenty from Papyrus, but none from his wife.

Sans was starting to worry.

The sidewalks were crowded with people as the Underground welcomed its victorious king. Sans saw Papyrus on the stairs to the palace, but no Frisk.

"BROTHER, WELCOME HOME." The taller skeleton said.

"Where's Frisk?" Sans said, looking around for his wife. He needed to know why she stopped writing.

Papyrus stiffened. "NOT OUT HERE." He said, leading his brother into the palace.

The study door was locked behind them. Sans watched his brother in confusion as Papyrus glared at him, taking a box out of the desk.

"Pap? Where's Frisk?"

"I believe this is what you're looking for." Papyrus said, his voice quiet. Sans stared at his brother in confusion as he took the box.

He glanced inside and screamed, dropping the wooden box. One amber eye, the color of gold, rolled out.

"What- What have you done?" Sans managed out. That couldn't be Frisk's eye.

"What you instructed me to do." Papyrus said. His older brother glared up at him, blue eye flickering. Then he was wrapped in a blue aura.

He was sent flying through the bookshelves. Sans descended on Papyrus. "Was this a bid for power?!"

The tears streaming down his face told Papyrus the truth. "B- BROTHER, WAIT! I THINK THIS IS A MISUNDERSTANDING!"

Sans paused. "What proof do you have?"

Papyrus hurried to the letters. "I RECEIVED THIS LETTER FROM YOU, TELLING ME TO KILL FRISK AND YOUR DAUGHTER AFTER HER BIRTH."

Sans read through all of the words, freezing at the last few lines. He sank to his knees. "I swear, I didn't write this. These weren't my instructions."

Papyrus sighed. "FRISK GAVE BIRTH TO A HEALTHY BABY GIRL. EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I GOT THAT LETTER." He hesitated, then continued. "FRISK IS ALIVE."

"What?"

"I DISOBEYED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND SENT FRISK INTO HIDING. I WAS CONVINCED YOU WERE OUT OF YOUR MIND." Papyrus gestured to the eye and tongue. "I KILLED A WILD BOAR."

Sans smiled through his tears. "Thank you. Where?"

"THE OLD HUNTING CABIN. I NEVER TOLD HER, SHE THINKS YOU SENT HER TO SAFETY."

The older hugged his brother in thanks.
