Chapter 1:Accused of a murder?

•Evangeline's Pov•
My name is Evangeline. My friends always called me Eve or Evan. See, there's something special about me. About me and my friends. We're all angels. So we live in a wonderful and magical place called heaven. I didn't die from old age, no. I died in an accident. An accident..That was on purpose.. But enough about that. I guess I'll explain some stuff about me. I'm 18 and used to live in Japan. I went to school and I always loved cats. I remember I took a stray one home but my mother said I had to let it go. I was sad but I think the cat has a good life now. And a good home.

I sit at a desk in my room since we all have our own places to stay up here. Until someone knocked on my door.

"Um..who is it?"

"This is the police!"

"Um..I'm coming!"

The police? What are they doing here so late? And what would they want with ME?

I go to the door and open it. They look at me with serious expressions. It scares me.

"Evangeline Katsuragi?"

"Um..yes?"

"You're under arrest. You're coming with us." One of them grabs my hands and places handcuffs on me. What's going on? I have done nothing wrong? Why am I under arrest? There must be a mistake.

"Um..officer, is there something wrong?"

"Details will be explained when we get to the station. For now, you have the right to remain silent."

"..yes sir.."

We make it to the station and we go to the court room where everyone is sitting in seats. I look around the room as they all shoot glares at me. I gulp and just look at my feet. I'm afraid. Please, let this be a dream!

The police seat me in a chair in front of the judge.

"Evangeline Katsuragi."

"Your honor.."

"You're probably wondering why you're here right now."

"Umm..yes. I am.."

"Well, I'll explain. See that long bag over there?" She points to a bag on the floor by one of the officers.

"Um..yes. I-I do."

"Well, that bag contains a body. The body of Ms. Andrea's mother. Who you brutally murdered in her own home."

My eyes widen when she says that. I-I never did anything like that! I'm innocent! I'd never use a knife or weapon for anything more than food. And Andrea is my best friend! I'd never do that to her!

"Um..your honor..I'm afraid that there's a mistake. I never hurt Andrea's mother in any way."

"Do you have proof of your innocence."

"N-No...hold on..when did this happen?"

"Last night."

"Oh no. There must be a mistake. I was in my own home last night. I never went to Andrea's house yesterday."

"Is this you?"

She throws a picture at me. It looks like me. But it's not me.

"Yes it is but-"

"Then you are guilty of the murder of Ms. Andrea's mother. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that you cannot stay in heaven for such a crime until you can prove that it's not you in the photo."

"How long do I have?"

"All the time you need. But now we're going to place you in a prison on Earth. You should be able to pay for your crimes there. If you won't prove you didn't do it, you'll remain on earth and forever be 18 years old. Send her down."

After that. They send me down to Earth. I saw as Andrea watched this happen to ms. She didn't stand up for me or anything. She just watched with a sad smile.

~Moments later~

I open my eyes and find myself standing in an office with a few men in there. A woman is in her chair and I hear her say my name.

"Evangeline. Evangeline!"

"H-Huh?!"

"Do I make myself clear?"

"Um..m-make yourself clear about what, ma'am?"

"What I just said."

"I-I'm sorry, Ma'am. But I'm honestly unsure of what you said and how I got here."

"That's rediculous. You've been here for the past 20 minutes."

20 minutes?! But...I could've sworn I was just dropped down from heaven...what happened?
