Bender got up and sat on the railing near Claire. "What do you say we close that door? We can't have any kind of party with Vernon checking us out every few seconds."

Brian clearly though the door should stay open and said, "But the door is s'posed to stay open.." Brilliant huh?

"So what?"

Andrew just had to answer. "So why don't you just shut up? There's four other people in here ya know."

"Awww! Ya forgot about Allison man! She makes five other people in here. Can't you count?" I cut in.

My comment made it only too easy for Bender to tease Sporto more. Whoops! "He's smart for a wrestler isn't he?" He gestured to Andrew and looked at me for confirmation.

"Well who the hell are you to judge anyway?" It seemed to be Andrew's last attempt at a retort.

"Really." Claire agreed with him.

Andrew continued. "You know, Bender.. You don't even count. I mean if you.. disappeared forever it wouldn't make any difference. You may not as well exist at this school.."

Before John could so much as mask  his hurt, I yelled, "What the hell did you just say?" He didn't respond. "Why don't you think about what you say BEFORE you say it next time. It'll come back to bite ya in the ass. " Andrew was too surprised to say a damn thing.

"Well, I'll just run right out and join the wrestling team." Bender began his teasing again although tensions were running high. Claire laughed at Bender. What a bitch. Bender's next comment was pointed at her. "Maybe the prep club too! Student council--"

"No. They wouldn't take you." She cut him off.

"I'm hurt." Bender placed a hand over his heart.

"You know why guys like guys like you knock everything..."

Oh great. The 'guys like you' comments were starting. I cut in, "It's 'cause of people like you. People who put others down just because you feel threatened. It's not like you would ever take the time to know us." I wasn't afraid to tell either of them off.

"Look you guys keep up your talking and Vernon is gonna come right in here. I gotta meet this Saturday and I'm not gonna miss it on account of you boneheads." Smart, Sporto. Real smart.

"Missing a whole wrestling meet!"

"Well you would know anything about it faggot! You've never competed in your whole life!"

"I know I feel all empty inside because of it. I have such a deep admiration for guys who roll around on the floor with other guys!"

"Ah you'd never miss it. You don't have any goals."

"Oh but I do! I wanna be just..like..you. I figure all I need is a labotamy and some tights."

Brian was now interested. "You wear tights?"

"No I don't wear tights I wear the required uniform."

Brian and I both chimed it at the same time. "Tights."

We heard Vernon out in the hall and Bender jumped down from his seat on the railing and he appeared to take a liking to me because he sat in the chair next to me. Oh boy. He was  really close. Vernon could not have left sooner. And when he did Bender got up and went to the doors. The library was pretty cold.

Bender got to the double doors leading out of the library. He looked around suspiciously then fiddled with the hinge and took out a screw so that the door wouldn't stay open. Brian said, "You know there's not s'posed to be any monkey business.."

On his way back to his seat, Bender pointed at Brian and said, "Young man, have you finished your paper?" Bender handed the screw to me. "Hide it."

"Fix the door Bender!" It seemed that everyone else but I was urging him to fix the door. They yelled at Bender. The pockets on female clothing are just too small, so I put it in my bra. That is until Vernon stormed in. They were silent.

"God dammit! Why is the door closed?"

Bender shot Vernon a smirk and replied, "How are we s'posed to know? We're not supposed to move right?"

Vernon turned to Claire. "Why?"

"We're just sitting here, like we're supposed to." She didn't give Bender away.

"Who closed that door?" This time Vernon looked at Allison who in turn squeaked and slammed her head against the table.

"Uh, she doesn't talk much sir.." Apparently my comment was unappreciated.
