bella woke up right next to auston, a smile forming on her face immediately. his strong arms wrapped around her waist, their bodies fitting together like puzzle pieces. she turns to face him, waking him up with a gentle kiss on the lips.
"good morning baby." he says as he nuzzles his face into her neck.
"babe." bella says with a worried tone. auston immediately perks up, wanting to know what's wrong. "what about mitch." austons face goes white. there's no way that mitch didn't come home last night, and the bedroom door was cracked open.
"shit." he says as he lays his head back down. all he can do is pray that mitch didn't walk by his room. that's virtually impossible though, as his room is right down the hall. oh god, auston thought, his room is right down the hall.
"lets go eat, i'm starving." bella says to her boyfriend, quite obviously trying to forget about the fact that mitch probably saw her and auston laying together, in bed, naked. the two get dressed and head down to the kitchen, and sigh when they see mitch sitting on the couch watching an ohl game.
"you guys aren't very subtle, y'know." mitch says as he gets up and walks over to auston and bella. they both put on their best confused face as mitch looks between the two. "im pretty sure everyone on the team knows you guys are a thing, they just haven't asked. just so you know." mitch them walks in between them and grabs the cereal from the cupboard. theres a small silence before bella speaks up.
"what? but how? we haven't even acted like a couple around the team!" bella says, a little upset that nobody told her about the team knowing. auston was just sitting at the table, stressfully running his hands through his hair.
"okay, that's a lie. you guys are all over each other. its totally fine though. you guys can date, i'm totally fine with it." mitch says with a mouth ful of cereal. gross, bella thought.
"but we're just friends!" bella says, lying through her teeth.
"bells, three people on the team saw you and auston sucking each others faces in the dressing room. not to mention the fact that i literally saw you guys laying in bed, without clothes on. not to mention there's been other nights whe-" that's where auston cuts off mitch.
"alright! we get it!" the other two stay quiet at auston's small outburst, not sure what to say. "is the team okay with it?" he says, a little more unsure. auston is beyond terrified of even the idea of losing bella.
"well, i guess some of the guys don't like the idea of dating a teammate." bella decided that she already has enough stress, and left to the living room. she would have to catch up on this with auston later.
"some of the guys? who?" auston asks mitch, barely noticing bellas absence. mitch stays quiet though. auston can tell that it isnt just some of the guys, its most of them. "its all of them, isn't it?" auston is just getting more stressed by the minute.
if the guys aren't okay with it, there is absolutely no way in hell that coach would allow it. mitch still doesnt say anything.
"are you even going to fucking say anything?!" auston now yells at mitch, full of anger as he forcefully stands up from the table. he really isn't mad at mitch, but he just happens to be in the line of fire right now.
mitch flinches back, slightly scared of auston at this point. he has this look in his eyes that mitch hasn't seen before, and he doesn't know what to do.
auston shakes his head and mumbles something under his breath that mitch can't quite make out. he storms past mitch and towards the door, grabbing his coat, keys, and hockey bag.
"babe, where are you going?" bella timidly asks. auston pauses for a second, still not looking back.
"out." the tall boy answers before storming out of the house and into his car.
