Alec paced back and forth around the room for 2 hours, he was extremely nervous but he didn't know why, this was something he was 100% sure of. Magnus arrived a few minutes late to their dinner. Alec could feel his stomach twisting itself into knots. they ordered and ate. After dinner they went home, Alec placed Magnus on the couch he grabbed the rose from the bedroom along with a velvet black box. He let Magnus sit there for a good 20 minutes. Alec came out wearing his black jeans and pride t-shirt.
"Magnus Bane, we met 6 years ago to the day. When we first met I was still in the closet, still in love with Jace, still ashamed of who I was. Then I met you, you weren't the person I expected, in fact you were the opposite. You changed my life my darling. You pulled me out of the shame I was was stuck in, for some reason you made it okay myself." Alec started saying, Magnus had already started crying knowing what Alec was getting at. "You have stayed by my side though everything, you didn't leave even when I put you through hell, you stayed, I've never really been sure about anything before, at least that was before I met you, Magnus Bane. Standing here in our apartment, in front of you in this very moment I'm still not sure about a lot but I'm 100% sure that you are the love of my life and i want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Alec grabbed Magnus' hands and got down on one knee, Magnus started crying tears of joy. "Magnus Bane, my boyfriend, my warlock, the love of my life. Will you marry me?" All Magnus was able to do was nod his head and hug Alec. Alec hugged Magnus tightly, the let go and placed the ring on Magnus' hand. "I love you so much my warlock" "I love you too my shadow hunter."
