Monday mornings. Everyone's least favourite time of week. I grabbed some lunch from my bag and headed to my usual table in the quad. I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the new additions to the table. Sitting there with my friends were the Famous Five, as they liked to called themselves. It consisted of five boys all in the running to be the winner of The Virginity Game.
Mitch Kean: cropped black hair, dreamy blue eyes and a jaw line sharp enough to slice any girls heart.
Harrison Dale; the smallest kid our year. What he lacked in the height department that kid made up for in brain and talent. Short sandy hair and deep brown eyes.
Chris Grate; your typical stuck up daddy's boy, bursting at the seams with wealth. Brown hair buzzed close to his scalp and green eyes.
Nathaniel Pure; don't be fooled, there is nothing pure about this kid. An all-round mysterious look about him with long, platinum blonde hair and story grey eyes.
Finally, Toby Keith; your usual 'boy next door who you secretly have a crush on kinda guy', who was also my best friend and eyes and ears on the inside. Wild brown curls and cute blue eyes.
They all turned to stare at me as a resumed my walk towards them, one by one huge smirks growing on their faces. Casey and Emma, my two friends already there, waved and gave me the thumbs up before rushing away from the table giggling. So much for my back up.
" Kat, my dear darling Kat, we were just talking about you." Mitch greeted me by kissing my hand.
" I feel privileged." I said sarcastically.
" Oh you really should. All good things I promise." Toby winked at me. " You guys will never guess what I did last night."
" Hmm. Finally grew some balls? Congrats, I mean it was about time. Puberty was 6 years ago." Oh sarcasm, where would I be without you?
" Sorry to disappoint you, no. I laid Olivia, meaning your boy is back the the running for winner of The Game."
" You know what that means, boys?" Chris added slyly.
" You're the last virgin standing." Nathaniel said, taking my total wink tally to two in the past five minutes. 'The last virgin standing' echoed around my head. I'd done well. No, I wasn't one of those girls that believed in the no sex before marriage thing, just someone who liked a challenge..
" This way to the virgin terminator, m'lady." He said, taking my hand to whisk my away.
" Sorry Mitch, I can't be late for class today. Raincheck though?"
" Count on it baby girl."
I kissed his cheek sweetly and waved to the boys before scampering off to find the girls.I found the girls hiding around the corner, where they had been watching my every move.
" You have lady balls!" Casey squealed.
" Are you sane in the head?" Emma yelled at me.
" There are five guys fighting to take your virginity and you decide to flirt with them and then you damn kiss one!"
" You know I like to mess with 'em." I whinged. " Can a girl have some fun around here?"
" Ugh fine, do what you like, but don't come running to me when things go wrong." .
" Girls hurry up!" Claire, the fourth addition to out squad, who had just come over now, groaned. " I kind of want some lunch time."
When we got outside the girls pushed me for gossip.
