I stomped down the road, absolutely furious. I couldn't believe the nerve that guy had to say things like that.
I was headed to the skate park where I hoped my other friends would be. I was glad I had bought some casual clothes today. I stopped at the closest fast food shop and changed in their bathrooms.
I entered in my sports uniform and exited in black skinny jeans, a Stüssy crop top and my black and white Chucks.
It was a short walk to the skate park and by the time I reached there it was probably first lunch at school.
I was greeted by friendly faces when I jumped down into the bowl. Cameron, Danny, Taylor and Kurt were just four of the nine that I classed as regulars down here. They were all about two or three years older than me and had finished school. They all had part time jobs but seemed to spend the majority of their time here.
" Stevenson!" Cameron threw his arms in the air. Dark brown eyes, brown hair and tanned skin. Despite the cold weather he was sitting around shirtless, not that I was complaining. I didn't mind getting to look at his perfectly moulded six pack.
" Skipping school, you little bugger." Kurt laughed. Your typical blonde hair blue eyed bad boy.
" Young lady you spend far to much time down here." Taylor was like the Dad of the group, always looking out for us, especially me. His light brown whiff was held back by a red bandanna.
" Come and give us the run down on what you did this time." Danny patted the empty spot next to him. Messy brown hair and amber eyes, one of the sweetest boys I knew.
I took a seat and explained the story.
" Ironic." Cameron finished.
" I don't get it?" I didn't see the irony at all.
" Well your not gonna like this but Oliver skates down here pretty often. He was talking about this game of yours and how he was gonna screw it over. Literally." Danny explained.
" Danny." Kurt hissed. " We kinda weren't supposed to tell. Respect and all though Kat."
" Chill. I won't tell him you spilled." I laughed. " I've never seen him down here before."
" Strangely he always turns up just when you leave." Cameron ran his fingers through his hair.
" I came down here for skating and I find a mothers group has taken over the bowl." Came a voice from above us. We looked to the top of the bowl to see another regular, Jack. He started down at us smirking with his deep brown eyes and black messy hair.
" Where's you partner in crime?" Kurt asked, referring to Jack's best mate Jack. The two Jack's were usually inseparable. It was all too confusing, them having the sane name so we came up with a simple number solutions. Jack 1 was here now, dark hair, dark eyes, and Jack 2 was elsewhere, light hair, light eyes.
" Working his shitty job at the cafe." Jack 1 laughed.
" He's missing out on a serious skate sessions. For once we have Kat here during the day and he misses it." Cam laughed,
" Speaking of skating I'd like to do some." I interrupted.
" Brilliant plan." We all agreed.
.~.
After about ten minutes an all to familiar figure showed up.
Oliver stood at the top of the bowl as I climbed out. He wore a black vans shirt, tan cargo jeans and black vans. He offered me a hand up but I declined, getting out on my own.
" Still feisty." He chuckled.
" Still a man whore." I retaliated.
" Someone's bitter."
" Someone needs to shut their mouth and mind their own business."
" Are you kidding? All I did was state the truth."
" You don't even know anything about what's going on!" I yelled at him.
" I don't need to know the facts to see that your a slut who's asking for it!" The boys let out a low groan. It was a low blow on Oliver's behalf.
" What's wrong with you?" I screamed before slamming a fist into the side of his jaw. He stumbled backwards, dangerously close to the edge of the bowl. I kicked as hard as I could into his stomach but he caught my foot and flung me to the ground.
I scrambled up and swung another punch this way. It hit the same spot as the first time. I was glad I wore my ring as I could see a very clear impression on his left cheek.
I was about to jump on him and really give it to him but two strong hands stopped me.
" Don't, Kat." Taylor whispered. " You've done enough." He turned me around and smoothed my hair down.
" But Taylor-" He pressed a finger to my lips to shut me up.
" Shhh. I'll drive you home."
" But school hasn't finished yet." I protested. " My mum will kill me."
" You can crash at my place. I have to go to work later so you have the place to yourself." Taylor's parents were rich, meaning they payed for all his expenses.
He had his own house and a Lamborghini, though he didn't dare bring it to the skate park. He always used his warn out, old blue pick up.
It didn't look exactly road worthy, but I hopped in anyway and we started the bone rattling journey to his house.
.~.
Taylor lived a little way out but still made the trip into town everyday. His house was double story and backed onto a lake. The house of a rich person.
Inside was decorated with very expensive looking furniture.
" Fell free to make yourself at home. I've got to be at work in," He pulled out his iPhone to check the time. " Thirty minutes. Great." He hurried up the stairs and into his room. Taylor was a personal trainer, and it wasn't hard to tell. He had a sculpted six pack and huge, I mean huge, arm muscles. I sunk down into his leather couch and tuned in to the fascinating lunch time tv.
He came down a few minutes later wearing black gym shorts and a muscle tank.
" Ok, I'm leaving now. Be good and don't break anything." He smiled as he raced out the door.
After about an hour of soap dramas and crappy mid-day television aimed at old people, I decided to explore out the back of Taylor's place. I spent about 10 minutes trying to unlock the back door, due to some fancy lock designed to keep even the best burglars out.
Outside the back yard was small with a line of trees at the lakeside edge, providing a bit of privacy. He had lawn chairs and a path leading down to the lake.
It turned out the path lead to a private pontoon. Docked along the edge were two jet skis and a fishing boat with an upper deck.
I jumped onto the boats deck and located the stairs that lead to the top level. I sat down in one of the two chairs that adorned the stark white upper level.
Just as I sat down the clouds parted and the sun beat down on me. A nice change from freezing cold air. I closed me eyes and fell asleep almost instantly.
.~.
I woke up at quarter to three. School finished in half an hour and it would take about 45 minutes to walk home. I raced down the pontoon and inside.
I grabbed my school bag and changed back into my school uniform in the first room I found. As I ran down the street I opened google maps and found the route home. It would on take 40 minutes. I put in my headphones and shoved me hands in my pockets and prepared myself for the wrath of my mum.
