Chandu's pov :-

What the hell ? Anu open the door I scream hearing the knock on my door for the nth time this early morning .

On not hearing any response and still hearing the knock on door , I open my eyes to see myself naked and alone in bed . It is then everything comes back to my mind ......

Anu asking me the reason for divorce and then her bold step of initiating kiss and the our love making .....

My lips form a huge grin thinking of Anu being mine and all mine . The ringing of door doesn't fade away . So I quickly wear my tracks and a t-shirt lying on floor and look myself in mirror once and wipe off Anu's lipstick marks off my lips but the grin of afternight doesn't leave my face .

I open the door little harshly to stay at my spot without moving . It was the least expected visitor visiting me . It was mom .

Seeing me shocked mom comes forward and hugs me happily and I hug her back believing that she's here and not dream . It's been so long that I received one of her sober warm hugs . Mom turned into a full-time alcoholic once I reached my teens . From then on I started drifting afar from mom . I was never close to dad to drift away from him but then you cannot blame me if he had another family and his first live was business .

How are you Chandu ? Mom asks inspecting me from my head to toe . It makes me uncomfortable under her scrutinizing gaze but on other hand I can see care in her eyes for me which is new .

I'm fine mom , why don't you come inside ? I ask her and she steps inside the house only to scrunch her nose .

You stay in such a down market area Son . Her effects are rubbing on you , after all she's also a middle class girl , mom tells with disgust .

Mom , this is the place we are living from past 4 months and this place is the only place we could afford with Anu's savings I tell her stressing last words so that she understands that I'm dependent on my wife and not vice versa .

Before I continue praising Anu more , mom places an envelope in my hand .

Curious to what it is I open the envelope to see a photo of the girl . I raise my eyebrow at mom for explanation .

She's Avantika , only daughter of
Mr Sharma  . Her family is looking for a match for her and when I showed your picture they loved you and they want you to be their son in law . Marry this girl and your life will change beta , mom says and I look at her in disbelief .

Mom , if you've forgotten Anu is rich in fact richer than Avantika but she chose not to bring her brother in this bevause it would hurt my self respect and here you've brought a full proof proposal to see your son .

It's not like that Chandu . I just want you to stay happy and be in love beta and Avantika is perfect , mom tries convincing me ...

You're right mom , how can I love Anu ? I'm just toying her . I cannot miss a hot figure Now can I ? I ask her angrily entirely being sarcastic .

Mom look as me wide eyes once I say this . Ofcourse no mom would expect her son to say this .....

Do you love her son ? Mom asks softly this time .

Yes mom , I love her . I love her so much that I want to let her go away from me but she's one stubborn piece and she hasn't left my hand and I'm never going to leave her mom . I love her so damn much . I tell all the while remembering our journey from hate to friendship to love .....

Then don't waste time beta , confess it and make her yours . Mom says confidently .

I look at her in shock .

I thought you don't like her , I accuse mom .

Yes , but if she has my son wrapped in her little finger than I can't do anything other than giving you guys my blessings .

Thank-you mom . Thank-you some much I tell hugging her . Even though mom wouldn't like Anu , I would've never left her . It's just that mom's blessings adds up my love on her more .

Always be happy and tell her that she won the challenge , mom tells and I look at her confused .

But then I remember that Anu warning mom in the start of our Marriage to look after me or else she wouldn't mind snatching everything from me .

True to her words she has really stolen . She has stolen my heart 💖

This reminds me that my thief isn't at home . Where's she ? Has she freaked out of what happened last night ? Does she regret doing it ?

All my questions need to wait till my answer comes back .........

Mom you know it's because of her that you started taking sessions at rehab and stopped drinking , you started growing your social circle also just for that Challenge , I remind mom .

Yes , how can I forget that she manipulated me into taking rehab sessions to stop my alcoholic addiction .... Mom says with scrunched nose . Ofcourse rehab sessions are not that easy to cope up with ...

She's beauty with brains beta . Don't loose her if she makes you happy .

I want nothing but your happiness mom says hugging me . With a kiss on my  forehead mom leaves before she gets late for her some kitty party and I roll my eyes at her .

Once I see mom out , I get a call from a totally unexpected number which raises the hair on my back because of nervousness and anxiety .....

Why is he calling me ??
