Luke's P.O.V.

It was dark and I was in the woods alone.

Why was I in the woods?

Wait, a minute; I'm not alone.

I look down to see the wolf that was in my backyard crouched in front of me. He was growling at something that I couldn't see; as if he was trying to ward something off to protect me.

I then saw the line of wolves advancing on us. The wolf that was guarding me let out a snarl and he lurched forward about 2 feet as a warning to back off. The largest black colored wolf that was on the other side growled back when all of a sudden all the wolves started to charge towards us.

I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. This wolf that was protecting me was going to be slaughtered. There is just no way he can beat all of these other wolves on his own. The wolf must share my feelings because he looks back at me with these worried eyes that were more green than brown.

He wanted me to run; he was going to sacrifice himself for me. As the other wolves grew closer and he turned to face them, I lunged forwards to put myself in front of the wolf.

"Noooo!!" I yell as I woke up and bolt upright in bed. I could feel my face and body drenched in sweat. I look over at the clock on my nightstand and sigh as I plop my head back onto the pillow.

It was 10:34 am. Thank god it was Saturday because both my parents are working right now and I would've been late for school if it was a weekday.

I felt the bed move beside me which causes me to shout and accidentally fall off the bed.

I just laid there for a moment to calm my racing heart. As I wait for myself to calm down, all of last night's memories came flooding back; the boy, his temper, his strange vocabulary, his extremely good looks, everything.

Speaking of which, I saw his head slowly peek over the edge of the bed with worried eyes. "Are you okay down there?" The boy asked softly.

I had seen those eyes somewhere before, but I can't remember where. I nod as I sat up which causes him to sit up as well.

"Yeah, I'm okay; you just scared me is all," I told him. I stood up from the ground and slides back into bed next to him.

"Why did you yell? Before I scared you, I mean," he asks softly; his eyes still filled with worry.

"Oh, I uh, I had a bad dream. I'm okay now; don't worry about it. You hungry?" I ask to try and take the topic off me.

Instead of answering, his stomach growls as if on cue. I laugh and stand back up. "I guess so. Let's go downstairs and make some breakfast."

He nods his head and gets up too. He stretches which causes me to all but drool over his muscles. I felt really self-conscious and small. I feel my face heat up as I turn away to go open my door.

Once my face cools down I look back towards him to see him holding the blue mug I gave him last night and looking down at his bare legs.

"Can I uh, have something to put on? I'm a little cold," he asks shyly.

"Of course," I say as I go and grab the sweatpants that I had given him last night. "Here, when you're done you can meet me downstairs and hopefully I'll have something ready to eat by then," I tell him.

"Thanks," was all he said before I turn and began to walk downstairs. I made my way over to the kitchen's pantry to find food. There was some Cookie Crisp cereal that I deem to be good enough to eat.
