"Do not sit there and argue with me Minnie, this is non-negotiable" he looked at me with his thick grey eyebrows and intertwined meaty fingers. I sat there and stared at him across his desk disgusted that he called me in to talk to me like a co-worker.

"Dad I do not need a babysitter, I am 17 years old" he sighed and put his hands down on his desk,

"Minnie you harmed yourself and I do not trust that you will not do it again, I can not worry about you 24/7 when I have work to worry about" typical dad.

Work has always come before my sisters and I ever since mom passed away. I have practically raised my two younger sisters while all he does is work all day and drink all night.

"He will be here seven A.M. and I expect you and your sisters to be downstairs to greet him" I got up and sighed with frustration rolling my eyes wanting to get away from him.

"Minnie you know I love you" I stopped and turned around,

"You do not love me, You love work. Mom loved me" I snapped turning back around,

"Minnie!" I opened the large heavy doors leading to the foyer and stomped up the stairs.

My name is Minnie Lough and my father Robert Lough runs a big business which brings in loads of money. Do not get me wrong, I am grateful for that, work just takes him away from my sisters and I. Ever since mom passed away of cancer 5 years ago, I have raised my two little sisters Abigail age 7 and Melody age 13. After my mom passed away I started to cut and one day I went a little to far and it exploded into me needing a babysitter.

I went up to my room and Abigail was standing by my door,

"Minnie? Can you help me?" she had papers and a book in her hand,

"Sure sweetie" I let her in and she sat at my desk with her legs dangling over the edge of the chair not quite reaching the floor.

"OK it's math"

"I'm good at math" she rambled off a bunch of questions and I answered them not paying half a mind to it since I knew it so easily.

"Are you hungry for dinner?" she was focused on her homework with her tongue sticking out a little,

"Yeah"

"What do you want"

"I don't know macaroni or something"

"OK" I ruffled her hair and left my room heading towards Melody's. When I reached her room I knocked a couple times,

"Come in!" she turned down some loud music and I opened her door letting myself in and stood about a foot away from her bed where she was laying reading a book. I do not know how you can read a book and listen to loud music at the same time but she does it.

"What do you want for dinner?"

"Do we have any chicken?"

"I think so, Is macaroni an acceptable side?" she nodded and I turned to leave,

"Wait Minnie, Can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure" she shut her book and crossed her legs facing me,

"Well there's this boy I like at school and he is super cute but I don't know how to talk to him" I smiled and sat next to her on her bed,

"Well he's in your grade right? Cause I do not want any older boys up in here" she laughed a little,

"Yeah his name is David"

"Ooo snazzy, just walk up to him and talk to him like he's one of your friends"

"Really?"

"Yeah it works all the time" I stood up and mentally high fived myself for a good talk,

"Thanks Minnie"

"No problem" I left slowly closing her door and hearing the loud music boom to life. I walked down the stair case and went into our kitchen where the maid was cleaning,

"Rosa you can take a week off ok?" she looked at me in surprise,

"I do not think Mr. Lough-"

"I dont' care, take a week off" she smiled,

"Thank you Mrs. Lough"

"No problem" she kissed my cheek and left and I got the macaroni out of the cabinet and pre-heated the oven for the chicken.

I cook dinner every night and the maid cleans the house. I take care of the girls and the maid does the laundry. She sometimes helps with homework as well but I like to do things so I don't become one of those snotty rich kids to afraid to get dirty. I give her time off all the time and it pisses my dad off so much but I say if he wants a clean house he needs to get off his lazy ass and clean it.

I unwrapped the chicken and seasoned it the way my mom taught me and popped it in the oven and set the timer for 45 minutes.

I got in the fridge and made myself a drink and sat at the island starring out the back window into the backyard. We have a beautiful house with a large lush back yard and swimming pool.

"Minnie make dinner" My dad said throwing an empty bottle of vodka in the trash,

"In the oven"

"Good" he left the room again to retreat back to his office where he sits all day and does nothing but yell at people over the phone and curse people over the internet.

I took a sip of my drink and sat it down thinking about the concept of babysitter. I haven't met the kid yet and I already hate him.
