Ode to My Sister

Happy Birthday, my dear friend!
Sorry I don't have much to say in the end.

Cause geez, you're way too brilliant.
And your spirit is just as resilient.

By now, you're miles away in a cabin.
But sit back and relax, just listen.

You're the best friend I never knew I wanted
and the older sister I never knew I needed.

It honestly made me feel quite daunted.
With memories and fears, I was haunted.

I still am, but definitely not as bad as before,
imagining my body found on the shore.

I wasn't as kind as I am now,
hating the world for always breaking its vows.

But with your flame ever bright,
I was able to see a little more light.

I had more hope in the world than before.
I stopped hating this life to the core.

With the magic at your fingertips,
your foes can't help the screams escaping their lips.

The things you've watched and read
can become whatever you wished and said.

Cause you're a librarian, shadowhunter,
witch, fangirl, and so much more all together.

But most of all, you're a tough fighter,
who's dreams continue to soar ever higher.

Thank you for giving me my sight
and giving me the strength to fight.

Thank you for being the irreplaceable you.
Trust me when I say, the others believe it too.

Thank you for existing my friend,
Sorry I can't sum this up well in the end.

But overall, I wish to say, "Happy birthday,
and keep on smiling till your dying day.

You know what? Even after that!
And knock your enemies flat.

Cause you're the best sister in forever
And there will never be another."
