The One I Care For

Love was never my strong suit,
like a machine needing to reboot.
I'm not saying that I love you,
that would be cruel of me to do.
As friends, I shouldn't burden you like this,
even if your eyes and voice are all I miss.
You're everything I fear and believe,
for you I'd fight, bleed, and deceive.
You may never know this poem's for you,
but at least you know these words ring true
I care for you, more than I'd like to say
but just know that I do, even when skies are grey.
