Once upon a time

A couple of centuries ago

A young girl fell in love

Yet she didn't want anyone to know

It wasn't out of embarrassment

Or fear of temptation

But the troubles that came along

Made her not want to embrace it

Her first love, they called it

How amazing how sweet

What if they knew

The way he treated me?

He gave me bruises

And he broke my bones

But the worst part is

I didn't want him to go

He told me he loved me

When his breath didn't reek of whiskey

And that everything he was doing

Would sooner or later help me

I listened to him

And it broke my heart

I can't cast out these shadows, I've found

even death can't do us part

He left her for a while

And as peaceful as it seemed,

Turns out he came to visit her

In her sweet little dreams

But those dreams were called nightmares

They left her crying for her mommy

Now she wonders

Will anyone ever want me?

He broke such a young girl

Tainted and scarred her heart

Let's hope if the drinks didn't kill him

This pain will tear him apart

But of course,

Till this day his breath still reeks

And the young girl remains crying in the corner saying

Who will want me?
