'I miss our conversations. I miss how we used to talk every minute of every day. And how I was able to tell you EVERYTHING that was on my mind.'
"Uh! Excuse me! I am not rude!" I retort.
"That's a good joke." Luke smiles sarcastically and laughs.
"I hate you." I glare at him and hope all the lasers in my soul are forced onto him at that moment. . . Just kidding. I have no lasers. Sadly.
"In what way?" He wiggles his eyebrows at me. Weirdo.
"Well it's like. . . I hate you, then I love you. I want to throw you off a cliff, then rush to the bottom to catch you. I guess." I shrug. I have no idea if that's how I actually feel. I think I'm leaning toward him as a friend. (FRIEND-ZONED FOR LIFE!!!!!! Sorry, triggered.)
"Okay." He replies happily while I see hurt flash on Matt's face.
"But as a friend." I add and turn just in time to see Matt's expression soften and Luke's face droop. (Well that was harsh of you Cassandra.)
"Okay." His tone is calm and measured. But his face actually betrays his 'acting skills'.
I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I didn't mean to make you mad." I apologize profusely.
"It's fine." His tone is icy and cold.
And this is another short chapter because my stupid brain is on ARGUE lock. So I don't really want to make the characters argue! (Or do I. . .)
