Fighting your way
Through things that
Should be easy
A simple smile is a battle on its own
When it's much easier to put on a happy mask
Than tell them what's wrong
Listen
Listen to me
I might say I'm fine
But I'm really not
I want you to see
Not look
But see
See the pain I deal with
Sometime a simple embrace
Is enough
Just show me you know I'm there
That you don't see
An empty space
Where I stand
Because I'm drowning in murky water
And I need people to see me
Look past the muck
See me
And help me
Lend a hand.
