This Drug We Call Høpe

I hoped.
Even when I knew all was lost
I dared to hope.
And what happens when
Your final hope gets crushed?
You go down with it
Forged hope destroyed me
Hope where there shouldn't be
Is the most dangerous
It will shatter you
Until you are nothing
And that is what has happened
Mentally, I have become nothing
No more energy, laughs
No more sadness, cries
No more.
Just fake, fake everything
Hope strengthens you for a short time.
But when Hope is over
It moves out of the way
And allows the sky to come crashing down
On you.
But Hope, well
It's kind of addictive, you see
Have it once, and you want more.
Se here we go again.
Forging hope, time and time again
How many times can we do this?
How many times can we consume
This drug we call Hope?
How many times until it finally kills us?
How many doses of Hope can one take?
Time and time again, ignoring the fatal consequences
Until we finally perish.
