7 years later

"WHAT??" I look at the T.V in askance.  "That's right, Tom! Nick Fury has opened up a special school to help teach and protect enhanced individuals that have been popping up since the New York incident. Mr. Fury declined to share the location with this station, for 'safety purposes', he claimed. All enhanced individuals will receive notification of the location, time, and other needed information."

As the reporter moved on to another story, I jumped up and went over to the mail slot in my apartment door. Sure enough, there was an unmarked envelope sitting in the floor. I flopped down onto the floor and tore it open. A slip of paper fluttered down onto the floor. I snatched it up and turned it over. 11 Words were written on it: 20 miles north of Melintac City. 2:00 sharp. Be there, Angie. I looked at my watch: It read 1:15. "Shit!" I had 45 minutes to travel 50 miles, Melintac being 30 miles from here to begin with. I couldn't go like a normal person, I had to blow my cover.

Luckily, I travel light.

I grabbed a duffel bag, packed my Ipod and 3 extra sets of clothes, then I was off. I took the stairs, the elevator was running too slow for me. I burst out of the rooftop doors, checking my watch one last time. 1:17. Taking a deep breath, and clutching my duffel bag close, I sprinted of the roof of my building and immediately opened my wings and beat them as fast as I could to gain altitude quickly. For a few seconds I kept myself in one place, holding position above the clouds, breathing in the the sunlight before speeding off in the direction of Melintac.

I was still flying when I heard the sound of a large crowd beneath me. I looked down, and I saw a huge throng of people standing in front of a large building complex. As I circled a little lower, I saw Nick Fury walking towards a podium on an obviously hastily erected podium. My watch said 1:58.

I had arrived in the Nick of time.

(Bad puns are the best puns, amiright?)

I dropped like a stone into the back of the crowd. This one blonde girl whipped her head towards me with a start, but as Nick started to talk, she turned back to the front.

"Now, I'm not much for speeches, but I guess I need to start this Academy right. So, I'm going to pass the mic to my friend here, Captain Steve Rogers." I hadn't noticed, but on the stage behind Fury was the entire Avengers team!!

I had a brief, well, maybe not so brief, moment of complete fangirling when I saw Hawkeye at the end of the row. Hawkeye was my absolute favorite Avenger, he was just so cool! I heard that he could hit the bullseye at 50 feet. I heard that blonde girl take a sharp breath. She turned to me and whisper-squealed: "It's Black Widow!!!"

I was about to respond when the Captain cleared his throat. "Well," He started with a nervous smile.

"This is a honor I wasn't expecting

"This is a honor I wasn't expecting. But hey, whatcha gonna do, right?"

The crowd broke into giggles.

"But seriously, this place" he gestured at the academy, "This place is going to be important to the Avengers, S.H.E.I.L.D, and to you guys too. This place is going to teach you, protect you, and train you. This school has the best technology-"

"Provided by me," Tony Stark cut in.

"Yes, yes," agreed Steve as he rolled his eyes, "Stark Industries funded and provided practically everything this college has. This school will teach all regular subjects, but it also provides individualized classes for those who might wish to join either S.H.E.I.L.D or maybe even the Avengers themselves."

With this last statement, the crowd of people erupted into gasps and started chattering excitedly.

"Calm down, please! I know this is exciting information, but the process for joining us is long and complicated, and it also requires extreme amounts of dedication and work. Your teachers will inform you of what is required for you later on. Speaking of, I am proud to announce that two Avengers will be teaching and staying at the Academy when they aren't on a mission." He grinned and turned towards the members standing behind him. "Clint, Sam, c'mon up here."

I clapped my hands to my mouth to keep myself from squealing out loud. Hawkeye was going to be teaching at the Academy! I had to physically stop myself from jumping up and down.

Hawkeye started talking, then stopped. "Okay guys, I'm not much for speaking, but I'm going to be manning the Target Practice class. It's for those who want to join either the Avengers or S.H.E.I.L.D. You guys will be practicing either with guns or powers, or maybe specialty weapons. Since I am both the most unnecessary member of the team and the bow guy, guess I was the man for the job."

Cap interjected, "Come on man, you know we couldn't make it without you."

Before he could respond, I cried out loud: "Hawkeye is the best!" I was immediately mortified, but another girl with dark hair yelled,"Yeah! Hawkeye rules!" Soon the entire crowd was chanting his name. Hawkeye just stood on the stage, dumbfounded.

The Captain clapped him on the shoulder and smiled, saying something in his ear that I couldn't hear since I was too busy screaming my lungs out

The Captain clapped him on the shoulder and smiled, saying something in his ear that I couldn't hear since I was too busy screaming my lungs out. After letting it go on for a few more seconds, Fury quieted us down and let Hawkeye continue.

"Geez guys, that was, that was awesome! I can't thank you enough. But you know, I've said my piece, so I'm going to turn the mike over to my friend Sam."

As he turned away, I could have sworn I saw a tear rolling down his cheek.

Falcon stepped up to the mike. "Well, I certainly can't top that reception, but I am Sam Wilson and I have a very special class. I teach flying. For those who either have mutations or tech, I help."

Cap stepped back up as Falcon went back. "Well, with that amazing reception, I say this Academy for Young Avengers open!" Once again, the crowd starts applauding and cheering. As the gates open, we all pour in. I look over to the blonde girl and smile.

"I think I'm going to like it here."

A/N: Hey guys! I know this was a pretty long chapter, but I couldn't seem to stop. I hope you liked the whole Hawkeye tribute, he is one of my favorite Avengers and I really think he deserves more respect. But anyways, Angie is now at the Academy! I'm about to write some of my favorite parts soon, I hope you like them as much as I do!
