Sam was laying in his bed, totally silent, just staring at the ceiling. It was 3 AM, but he couldn't sleep. Maybe it was because of the long football practice the day before, or school stress, he didn't know.
He was so bored, he called up a few of his friend, and Dean and Cas. They all sat in the maroon colored room, drinking soda.
"So, Sammy boy? Why'd you call us?" Scott McDavis, another WR, asked.
"I dunno. I couldn't sleep and y'all were up too." Sam answered, shrugging his shoulders.
They all talked in turns, until one person, Ford Smith, said they should play truth or dare. "No sexual dares, unless it goes for 'Destiel' over there." He pointed to Dean and Castiel.
All of the boys agreed, and did stupid dares and answered crazy questions. Dean had to chew five big pieces of bubblegum at once, then make a tiny sculpture out of it. Dayne had to chug a whole cup of milk, and then it was Sam's turn.
"Truth or Dare, Sammy?" Dean asked.
Sam thought for a split second.
"Truth."
"Have you ever loved someone? Like not family related?" The question was asked.
Sam's hair fell into his face, and he looked down at his lap. Dean's eyes grew in worry after a few seconds of Sam like that.
"Sammy?" He nudged his younger brother's shoulder. Sam looked up, and the group saw he had tears in his eyes, one strolling down his cheek.
The group was all worried now. Multiple "Sam are you okay?" could be heard, but Sam just shook his head.
"To a-answer your question? Yes, I have loved someone. But I still love them, and they will never love me back. I love them so much, it hurts to see them some days, and when I see them with other guys, there is a deep pain in my chest that just stays there." He grunts. "It's like I shouldn't love them, if they don't love me back, but I can't help it." His eyes were now streaming with tears, and Dean had his arm around him.
"It's okay, Sam. She'll love you back one day." Scott said softly.
Sam did a watery laugh. "Yeah, sure, someone as ugly as me, sure. In my dreams. And you know who it is? She's been my bestfriend since first fucking grade, and if I tell her, and she doesn't love me back, it will make me lose my bestfriend, too. I swear, my life's a fucking tranwreck."
The rest of the night was filled with a still-crying Sam, and some of the others talked about the people they loved too. Eventually the group of teenage boys all passed out, cokes in their hands.MEANWHILE
The cheerleading squad had held a sleepover in celebration to them all making the team. It was 3 in the morning, and yet they were all still awake, on their phones or doing nails.
"So, Skylar? Who's that hunk that you hugged today?" Allison, a flyer, asked.
Sky blushed and everyone was looking at her for an answer. "His name is Sam. He's been my bestfriend since first grade."
The girls all "awed" at Sky's blushy face. She was hit with a couple questions too.
"Do you like him?" Was one that stood out to her.
They all were staring at her again, and her face returned to looking like a tomato. She thought for a minute, but eventually whispered a slight "yes" into the air.
The girls all screeched, and were singing "Sam and Skylar sitting in a tree..."
The rest of the night continued to be filled with boy-talk, mostly about how hot Sam and his brother were, painting nails, watching movies, and stuffing food into their cheeks.
