*(Third Person POV)*
The small homely church is filled with guests. There are quiet conversations throughout the room, but the first notes of I Love You by Avril Lavigne and the opening of the double doors hushes them. One of the music artists they both liked was Avril Lavigne. Her songs basically were their relationship and they thought it appropriate for one of her songs to be in their wedding. Everyone in the room stands and faces the aisle in which the bride and her bridesmaids will soon walk up. Bridgette is first to walk through the doors, soon followed by Heather. There aren't any flower girls or ring bearing boys, so Bridgette and Heather have to drop petals along with carry their bouquets. Geoff is the one holding Courtney's ring and Bridgette is holding Duncan's ring. Once the bridesmaids are to their place opposite the groom and his groomsmen, a few seconds pass and Courtney alongside her father steps onto the aisle. Gasps can be heard throughout at the bride's beauty. Courtney is smiling and blushing, absolutely glowing. Duncan watches with that dumbfounded look of pure awe and love that only a groom tends to make. Courtney's father and she approach the spot where Duncan and the pastor are waiting, one most certainly more eager than the other.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today both friends and family for the holy matrimony of Miss Courtney Elizabeth Barlow and Mr. Duncan Robert Nelson. It is in the love and name of God that brings this man and woman together to be unified. Now, who gives away the bride to the groom in marriage?" announces the pastor.
"Her mother and I," answers Courtney's father. He turns to Courtney and whispers, "You have never looked more radiant and beautiful, your mother and I couldn't be happier for you. He's the one."
"Thank you, Daddy. I love you," she whispers back before he kisses her hand and retires to sit with Courtney's mother.
"Man and woman come together in marriage to become one-"
"Hi Princess, you look-I don't know, they're aren't words-wait I know. You look like my Queen," Duncan whispers, smiling at Courtney.
"Hi Ogre." Courtney laughs. "Same to you though I prefer being your Princess."
"-a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. God loved us, and created us to love others. Our lives find completion only as we love and are loved in return. Together, we can become what we could never be separately. Marriage is of God-"
"You'll forever be my Princess," Duncan whispered.
"Good. And you'll forever be my Ogre and Neanderthal and every nickname I've ever called you," Courtney replied. "Out of love of course."
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not prideful. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Duncan and Courtney are here today to be united in this sacred relationship."
"I know," Duncan said quietly with a wink.
"Now, if anyone has any objections as to why these two shall not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace." announced the pastor. Just then the doors to the church slammed open and heads turned to look at the source of the sound.
